It's time for our first game in the SASL this weekend. We start our campaign of the 2010/2011 season in the SASL 3rd Division with an away match against Orange. This game will be played at Fred Wolfe Park and it is a 9 AM kick off..... I repeat.... a 9 AM kick off! So, please try and be at the field between 8.30 and 8.45 to warm up. The SASL rules are strict around bad behaviour and abuse of the ref.... please to do not argue, shout or even talk to the ref during the game or you may receive a yellow or red card!What do we know about our new opponents? Well they have just joined the over 40 leagues after playing in the over 30's divisions. Last season they finished second bottom of the Third Division. Having said that, I'm sure they will think that they are a young enough team to take on us old timers! Our big advantage? We have been playing all Summer without a break! Let's have a great start to the new league
In other news, we had a team meeting Monday night at Augers bar and the shock news from the meeting was the sacking of Jodingo!! and BOR from their roles as recruiting and entertainment officers! As they cried into their beers Tom A and Tano were appointed the new CRO (Chief Recruiting Officer and CBO ( Chief Beer Organizer ) respectively.
We spent most of the meeting talking about the new rules and regs of the SASL....... if you are not already aware please make sure your shirt has a number on it!! You may not get on the field without a number on your shirt!

ReplyDeleteAs you know, I'm on charge of the Postgame Drinks.
CBO, they said (chief beer organizer) I would like to be a Congressional Budget Office Chief instead (nice salary and benefits), but for that I need to move to DC.,so I just stay here to be the chief beer org. for now.
In the meeting I proposed to make a list of those guys who want to be part of the Postgame Drinks, (PD from now, ), so we can have an idea of how much beer we need, and Who's next beer boy.
Unfortunately some ones don't stay for the PD, for personal reasons.
Now we have two groups, the PD players, and the abstinent players.
If you are not in the list, and you want a drink, you have two choices, one is, bring your personal drink ( we can cool it for you), or you can have one some times, but if you stay often, I put you on the PD list, so you can drink many games you want, but you have to cooperate too. Sounds fair? (let me know if you have better idea).
I want start over, so the first contributor will be me.(Thanks, Big Keep)
So far I think the list is this, but you can add yourself or remove as your wish.(please help)

That's why, I will search in advance, if is a restricted park, or if they are an unfriendly Team.
DRINK RESPONSIBLY.

ReplyDeletePlease see attached three charts that are used for tracking each teams discipline for yellow and red cards and the discipline received for ejections.
Discipline points are usually same as game suspensions, i.e. 3 games for fighting = 3 points.
Letter that explains the point system.
Discipline Chart that is updated every week
CSSA (State Org.) minimum game suspension for red card
As a new team, you are automatically on two years probation. If a new team has a bad record in their first year, they may not be invited back. This happened last year to a new team, Stratford S.C.
who were not invited back. Teams not invited back for poor discipline forfeit all bonds, Rule D.3.
Participation in the SASL is a privalage not a right. Five teams have not been invited back this last two years.
Hopefully this e-mail will give you advance notice of the discipline standards that teams and players are expected to meet. It is important that you notify your players that getting excess yellow and or red cards could hurt the team. I suggest if you have a player acting undisciplined, pull him off to help the player and the team.

ReplyDeletewe know some players don't, read the blog and need to be reminded over and over sometime that the GAME TIME is 9 AM this Sunday....we need to remind people by phone if necessary. We don't want to get to the field and hear some pplayers made a mistake on starting time of the game......that would be a disaster

our SASL squad has now been confirmed and all passes are in! We have 20 players on the roster. Bambi is in as a reserve goalie but will be available for the outfield in November when he comes of age....very important moment in a deers life. Dejan is in the squad and is available when we need him.... thanks Dejan.

We also have three other players that we are in discussion with.... we need a squad that can survive the season.... even with 20 players in our squad we have been dwon to only 11 available for a game and even then two of them played injured!
Jorge! hope you have a good rest during August and come back fully charged up for the rest of the season.... we "kids" will try our best without you!

ReplyDeleteDo the same thing like Arnie, and I remember the rehab of groin strain is 2 or 3 weeks. The most effective therapy exercise is, to get those soft plastic balls (Size 5 or 4)from Wal-mart put between your knees and squeeze it for 15 sec. and release it, rest one minute and again.
Make this 4 time a day for about 30 minutes.

LOTB... Yes losing McGeady is a big thing for Celtic and also Boruc but they do need to freshen the team up. I think they both were getting bored playing in the SPL. Having said that they have both joined clubs that are much smaller than Celtic
