NEXT GAME; Sunday 1st Nov, Guilford!

This weekend we have a home game against our local rivals the Guilford Hawks. These match ups are usually tough and entertaining. As you can see from our previous match reports below we have had some good success against Guilford this year. A 6-1 demolition job at home;

followed by a narrow away defeat;

and then a narrow 4-3 win at home;

Looks like we will have a great squad ready for Sunday and we should be in for a really good game. Couple of things to remember.....this game is at the Daniel Hand High School and the kick off is at 9.30AM...... so try to be there by 9AM!!

ALSO......

THE CLOCKS GO BACK ONE HOUR THE NIGHT BEFORE SO MAKE SURE YOU ADJUST YOUR CLOCKS!!!

Will see you all there. I think Jorge is bringing food and if we want to drink beer we need to go somewhere other than the school car lot.....BOR...what do you suggest?

  5. Celticmen,

    The purpose of this e-mail is to communicate the financial position of Madison Celtic FC today (see enclosed spreadsheet for the details), and to outline our financial plan for the future. This was one of the key action items to emerge from our inaugural team meeting at Auger's bar in Guilford a few weeks ago. The time has finally come for the new finance committee to collect fees from all of you for the current (Fall 2009) season. Collection of dues etc., and management of our club finances is now the responsibility of Ron, your CFO, and my underlings on the finance committee (Rob and John ). We need $35 from each of you, which will cover all the referee fees for the current outdoor session. It will also cover the $100 fee that El Gato graciously paid for our SASL League application filed a few weeks ago. Many thanks Behrooz! We will work on the indoor sessions, once we get an accurate headcount of who will be playing indoor this winter.

    • The basic fee to cover the present season is $35/player
    • For new players, an additional $30 is required to cover league registration and issuance of CARSL ID badge shown to game referees. For our new players, if you are already registered with CARSL, ignore the $30 fee!
    • Today we opened a bank account for Madison Celtic FC. John, Rob and myself will be able to deposit and withdraw funds from the team account to pay league fees, referees, buy new footballs and uniforms to accommodate existing and new players as they are recruited. In addition, we would like to generate a modest money "float", that would be used to cover expenses for annual or bi-annual team gatherings/dinners, picnics and the like.
    • Please make checks payable to Madison Celtic FC. You can bring to the Guilford Match on Sunday or mail them to Roniildo, Cash works too, but checks are better for record keeping and team transparency.

    Thank you all supporting Madison Celtic FC!

  7. Dear CFO,

    Can you make a prediction on Madison Fc 2010 earning forecast which currently range from $0 per share to $0.

    Also, can you tell us why the financial market still does not see Madison Fc as a good future investment!

    Can you comment on the rumors of a potential merger with the Celtic Glasgow Fc since they are going nowhere this season having lost to almost everybody/anybody wearing cleats! :o)

    Concern shareholder
    p.s. Tom/John: Please post Sunday game status (on/cancel) on the Blog

  8. Dear Fribeka,

    Please be assured that senior management and the board will always act in the best interests of Madison Celtic FC, even if it means making critical decisions like firing useless players on the spot. Our long term strategy was well received on the street, and our current share price is certainly in line with our peer organizations! On the advice of our senior Council, I am not at liberty to comment on idle speculation regarding a merger with Glasgow Celtic FC. As I mentioned before, we will act on the best interest of the shareholders!

  9. We need a foreign investor - not so we can buy better players but so we can have better parties! Or to fund a training camp in the Carribean or South America.
    Maybe all these ex-British owners would invest on our team?

  11. Forcast for Sunday is occasional showers possible and we will see how it will turn out. Our ref is not Gino for this Sunday....also, I haven't heard about Kevin yet....

  12. Kevin will be last minute decision Tom, so not included in the squad for Sunday. Same for Carlos, he may show up for 1st half, but no promises, hence no listing.....that's the protocol now...if not definite yes, we assume NO until match time.
