NEXT GAME; Sunday 18th October, Prospect!

Hi from Sunny Scotland! Of course the fixture list waits for no man so our next game is this Sunday against Prospect. This game is at MADISON HIGH SCHOOL, not our usual field. And the game STARTS AT 9.30 AM, not our usual time! According to Tom's roster numbers we have a full team available even though some of our major stars are unavailable for this game!

The last time we played Prospect they turned up a man short but played very well. We had our proud unbeaten record on the line but we could not come up with the goods to stop Prospect from a well deserved 1-0 victory.

Let's hope we can have a better outcome this Sunday. I wont be there so will rely on our intrepid junior reporters to come up with a match analysis and Man of the Match.

Have a great game and hope the snow stays away!

  5. Is the high school synthetic turf field? If yes, there's no chance of cancellation...we're not afraid of the rain!.I'll post the position line-up on the blog later today.

  7. Ron,

We are not playing on the turf field. We play on the grass field that we played last. So if is a rainy day, we have to cancel. I think you were talking about Dan's friend registration. As I said in my email yesterday, I need the copy of his license and Danny was supposed to send it to me....a week has gone by and I am still waiting for it. I played phone tag with Danny yesterday with no result. So if you can, have him to send me the copy of license ASAP that I can have him signed up

  11. I am very disappointed! My wife and specially my son ask me this morning not to go to the game because it would surely be canceled. With not a lot of rain falling down and with no notice on the Blog, eventhough we said this would be our means of communication in case of cancellation, I told her that for respect of my teamates, I did not want them to be short if the game was still on. I drove down 1/2 hour back and forth to see 2 other teams playing. So, having said this, my availability for this session will now be minimal. I'm tired of this and will plan my sundays without thinking about soccer.

  13. Tom, sent an email last night around 10:30 which was probably late for most people. What he should have done was post it on blog as well. I didn't check the bog till this morning but happened to check my email on my phone around midnight. Sorry Jacque I missed your call around 9 a.m. even though Tom should take the blame. I apologize on his behalf. Just a nice thing to do..........

  14. i didnt get the email from Tom.... i guess i wasnt cc'd? If i had recieved such an email i would have been able to get something on the blog even from Scotland!

We have got to do these simple things better.....communication was identified as one of our big issues and we are still totally crap at it.....basic stuff.....

when a game is cancelled we need an email ....TO THE WHOLE SQUAD....not just the people who are thought to be playing that day...we also agreed that we would have a phone call system....and finaly we agreed that we would put it on the blog.....from what i can see none of that happened this weekend

  15. You are right John, The email went only to the people who were playing and as I saw who the mail list went to did not include people who do not usually read them like Enrique or Carlos. I hope at least a call went to those people. However, we did agree the person who is in charge of cancelling the game and/or intouch with the league or other team managers should put all inquires on the blog and not just with emails late in the evening before the game. I did get a call from Danny in the morning and I told him the game was cancelled. I missed Jacques call in the morning and that is when I went on line and saw nothing is mentioned on it on the Blog.

  16. its a really basic part of running a team....simple communication...we all know the team is frustrated at the lack of organization right now and of course the lack of players....but we should at least get the communication piece right..... lets have another go at running a phone call " tree" for roster confirmations and for game cancellations.....anyone who hears the game is cancelled is able to write this on the blog too.....

  17. Jacques, I am very sorry you were left in the dark....Ron

All, I will make it my responsibility to check e-mail communications about game cancellations, to ENSURE the whole squad is notified. HOWEVER, as john has mentioned so many times now, USE THE BLOG FOR ALL communications.
