NEXT GAME; Sunday 8th November, Southington!

Next game up is a home match against Southington. We have played this team 3 times already this year winning twice and losing once. Match reports are below;

Looks like we will have a full squad again for this game and therefore we will have to use our subs effectively over the 90 mins. W are going to try a classic Center Forward approach in this game to try and bring some shape to our attack. Enrique, Carlos and Jorge play a style of forward play that means you cannot predict where they are going to be on the field at any time. By having a CF it should provide a relatively fixed point on the field for the midfield and other attackers to play off of. The CF should in no way be static but always trying to find space near the box and to pressure the last defender at all times. Looks like we have at least 4 volunteers for the role. It will involve 15/20 min bursts of action then off for a break. Let's hope it works because we need some goals scored!

  1. I saw the slew of posts regarding the field. Are we still playing on the Exchange field?

  5. Besides the risk of sliding on goose cr_p, that's a pretty decent field.

  6. For those new players who may not know where the Madison Town Campus is located, it is just north of the I-95 exit (Exit 62) for Hammonnasett State Beach. About one mile or less on the right-hand side of the road.

  7. Hope that wasn't confusing....get off at Exit 62 and go north one mile.

  12. Good morning gentlemen:

    I have been advised that one of the men’s soccer teams has been using the Turf Field on Sunday mornings. Please note that you do NOT have a contract to use the turf. Our soccer teams, field hockey and football teams are still in season and will be using the turf field until 11/21/09. Thank you for your cooperation.

  13. Jacqui,
    We have never used the turf field at anytime this season or any season for that matter. We had permission to use Jensen fields at some Sunday's. However the Madison Men's over 30 team have been using the turf field at most occassions as their home field.

  15. I am glad you informed me also because we were always told they are allowed to use the field.
    Now that we are on the subject how can we pursue to get permission/authorization to use the field on Sunday's in the spring/summer season.
    Thank you and appreciate for letting me know.

  16. During the spring, when we have track and field and lacrosse we do not schedule any soccer teams on any of our fields. Once school is out (June 18, 2010) it may be possible to schedule some time on the turf depending on use by summer camps.

  18. jacqui,
    It is not Madison AFC over 30 of the SASL League. We've been playing on Exchange North this fall.

  22. Gentlemen,
    Don't forget the upper Town campus field is attached to the police station. We have to drink after the game with caution or move to a different location for after the game activity.
    I checked the field at 7:30 tonight and the nets are up.
