NEXT GAME; Sunday Nov 22nd, New Fairfield!

Last official game of the season this Sunday at Home to New Fairfield at the Town Campus Field, normal 10am kick off. This will be our 6th game against New Fairfield over the last two seasons and we have a relatively poor record against them; Lost 3, won 1 and drawn 1....Match reports below for you all to refresh your memories, painful though they are!

Let's see if we can round off the season and the year with a bang! There is no reason we can't win this one especially if we can compete and pass like we did in the first half of the game against Southington. Simple passing, look for space, don't try and dribble past the whole of the opposition.....oh, and scoring from 40 yards out would definitely look spectacular but it's highly unlikely to happen!

Looks like we will have a strong squad for Sunday with over 14 players saying they will turn up.

Let's try and remember the "no cussing" rule when it comes to you team mates....we are all on the same side!

We should also try and find out if this will actually be our last game.....we certainly could do with some make up games for the ones we missed during the Fall season. I think Tom would have to check with Clinton or some other local team if this is possible. Are you all up for playing on if the weather holds out? Of course with Thanksgiving coming up no doubt people will say we can't play next weekend but i don't see why not!

See you all Sunday, I think Roniildo is the beer boy?.....If it's raining the night before check the blog for a status report!

  2. On the more serious matter guys...let's treat other with the highest respect on Sunday. If one of us screws up, don't say anything negative. If you are compelled to comment on personal errors, make it positive. As our new team begins to take shape, as voted captain, I will ask you to take a seat if you curse or abuse anyone on our side (the opposition is a different matter ;o)). If you abuse again when you come back-on, you're out for the rest of the game. I think developing respect and tolerance for all abilities on our team is the only way to bring us together to have fun, and some competitive football on Sunday's. If you can’t agree to these rules, then MCFC is not the team for you. The no tolerance of abuse is a new rule, and it applies to every single one of us. Let’s play together like friends on Sunday, and win our final game. If anyone has a problem with my suggestion, give me a call or better still, blog your concern

  5. Did anyone see the Thierry Henry hand ball last night in the game against Ireland?
A shocking miss by the ref and linesman.... outrageous cheating by Henry and Ireland are out of the World Cup! Worth remembering when our ref doesn't call for offside in the game at the weekend.....it could be worse!

  7. 16 players!?!?! Why can't we have this many every week? There's so many I'm considering sleeping in and showing up at 11:30.......just in time for a cerveza!

I read about Henry's handball....awful for the land of Ire!!

  11. Ron,
Last time the postions were messed up and there few players that were playing in wrong postions that they were suited for. That created other problems for the team and we need to make sure that it doesn't happen this Sunday again. You and I need to work out the postions that we won't have this problem Sunday morning. I think is best that we talk before Sunday. We can do it tonight or sometime tomorrow...let me know what works best for you and also we can also have John included for any comments as well.

  19. Ron, Drew is ready to sign for us.....he just passed the 39 mark and is willing to come and try goalie.....gets him on the books at least.....please tell our CRO Jodingo!!

  20. my natural position is on the bench sitting with a beer, but I've been forced to play left wing..... I don't really care where i play, as long as everybody else around me play their assigned positions (understanding your role at any given position and HAVING the discipline to play that role is our biggest problem as a team). I've been a hockey coach up 'til college level and this is my first rule - you don't play with discipline and energy, you sit down for a while and watch somebody else who does - it applies to any sports.

See you all Sunday! Just a warning, Kevinho started to be sick Friday (fever...)!

  21. Just wanted to give everyone a head's up. I started not feeling well on Thursday night. Last night I had a 102F fever. Needless to say, I don't know if I will be healthy enough for tomorrow's game. Please plan on me not being there, but if I feel better by tomorrow morning I will show up.
