Goggs and TJ Take The Prizes!

What can i say about the performance against Cardiac Arrest? Well it was certainly a tale of two halves. The first looked like the Madison Celtic indoor team of the last few years, with great passing movement and spectacular goals from Ruggero and David. The second was simply a nightmare as the Cardiac Arrest team double teamed David and put fast breaking guys up front. We collapsed! From 5-1 up at the half we were quickly only leading by a goal as stupid defensive errors led to easy goals for the Cardiac team. For some reason The Hulk decided the ball was a hot potato and refused to pick it up choosing to send probes into the outer atmosphere of the galaxy with his clearances. The rest of the team, including this intrepid reporter, decided to respond to all this mayhem by slowing down even further! Before long we were 7-5 down and in a sorry state. No passing, no movement and no tackling. Only with 5 minutes left in the game did the Celts finally buck up and put more pressure on the Cardiac defense. Tano scored a brave goal to put us one behind but with the clock ticking down we were not able to find an equalizer. Poor result after such a great first half!

Maybe the prizegiving to Goggs and TJ at half time was not such a good idea after all!!

No game next Thursday!

  7. ...........................too bad boys. Defense totally lost the plot in. The 2nd half!. I take my responsibility, because I got fed up playing D as I did in first half, and got that urge tobplay upfront in 2nd half, which turned out to be very bad move. D needs to be much more aggressive in the first challenge for the ball. Watch any game on TV tomorrow, and you'll get my drift.

  12. Sorry Johnny would have loved to have done more with the ball but picking it up was not a oponion since it was never in the box and having time to do something else with it wasnt available either since i was usually trying to bet someone on a breakaway to the ball.Since most of our team spend so much time on the OTHER side of the field in the second half its understandable that its hard trying to look through all the opposing players on MY side of the field and see clearly what was going on............

  13. Too true Hulk! You need more defensive protection in front of you.....we will try and sort it out for the next game

  14. The clear difference between outdoor and indoor is...........Outdoor we played steller defence and dominate the ball with outstanding ball control, alot of movement and unselfish play...........Indoor we play little defence since everyone appears they want to shot and or score, there is obsolutely NO movement at all with people just standing there waiting for the passes that aren't coming as a result of people not passing...........As Tom A said to me in the summer I see the hole field and everything that goes on...........the first half on thursday was the outdoor version and the second half was the indoor version.

  15. I have so much fun last night playing with Jimmy, Carlos. And that make me think about stay out for the indoor 3rd. season. But is only practice for the real outdoor, right?

    Johnaldo:
I talk with Carlos about that you mention we need Jorge and Carlos, and he told me something that make me stunning and I didn't know, Jorge's house is at exit 92 of Fwy 95, that is almost Massachusetts OMG. Now I understand when he want to play the whole game or when he used to came little bit late at the outdoor games. Sorry Jorge, I'm really sorry.

  16. Tano... i know! Jorge travels a big distance to play with us....especially for away games. He is a really dedicated team mate..... but we still miss him at indoor!

  18. ............we will be ready, and in good shape for the outdoor season starting. Bottom line about last week was total meltdown in D in the 2nd half.Well, not even a meltdown, just non existent. I am first to admit that I just wanted to play up front for a change in the 2nd half, and wasn't bothered by the fact that the Hulk was our only defender...LOL. If we want to win these indoor games, we stick our strong defenders in back, and keep them there for the duration. If we do that, and get the ball to DS in the middle, we'll score tons of goals next game.
