Guys, we have a friendly match against Guilford Hawks this Sunday. It will be great to have a game without having to worry about winning or losing points! We have been playing competitive matches non-stop since early April! This will also give us a chance to see some of our new players and returning players in action!
The game is at the Exchange field and the kick off is at 10am. I will bring some beers!
We are also waiting to see if we have actually won the Division B championship in CARSL! Bridgeport did not play their last two games so are still a point behind us... no doubt Tom will confirm when we know if Bridgeport are playing any make up games

CARSL has just posted the new divisions for their Fall season. Bridgeport B are now in the first Division and Trumbull were relegated. So it does look like the league has ended and we are the champs but again i will wait for Tom A to confirm....
ReplyDeleteOddly, Clinton have changed their name to Clinton Internazionale FC for the new season.... certainly not the Clinton i used to play for.... Alec, their manager has not yet changed his name to Alexi Martino but i fear it's coming....
Bruce coming with a big fish he has caught for the picnic after the game. Right now I am kind of questionable with my injury and see how much I can play. Also remember hurricane Earl coming for this weekend and not sure how much we are going to get effected by it.

About small field and tactics:
I was watching some games in small fields and short team (playing against outside line) and I find out some ideas to play against them.We need two fast wings to run all the time from back to fwd. with the ball on their feet and mid defense Stopper and sweeper) have to kick the ball fwd. quick and high, avoiding short passes, three fwds. in line with a lot of pressure all the time against defenders.
Tano ...... Good idea. I know that Christiano Ronaldo and Messi are available for the game this weekend. ;o)
