Our game this Sunday is away to Hamden......
It is an 8.30AM KICK OFF!!!..... I repeat.... it is an 8.30am KICK OFF!!!
On the face of it, this should be a 3 pointer for us. Hamden sit rooted to the bottom of the table after 5 losses. They have lost heavily to several teams so far and have only scored 3 goals. Last year they finished bottom of the league after 13 losses, generating only 10 points over the whole season. Having said all of that, we will need to bring our A game to the field. Several of us will be missing including a contingent over in Scotland. We need the rest of the squad to turn up!
The Hulk will be back between the sticks, we have Roberto as a new star in defence....maybe we will even see La Boca again?
This is also an early kick off did I mention that before? Yes, i did.... the kick off is at 8.30AM!!
Last week several guys turned up just as we were about to kick off and that was at 10AM!
Grab the win and the 3 points guys! And Atlantic Rovers will try and win the tournament over in Scotland!
El Gato will be the card holder and scribe for the day and Tano will try and take some pics!
Squad for Sunday so far;
ReplyDeleteEl Gato
Talet
Tano
Ilhan
Halil
Roberto
The Hulk
Tom A ( if recovered )
tpink
Jorge
Safet
Arniesto? La Boca? Dejan? Carlos?
Guys... we still need confirmed bodies for Sunday At the moment we have 11 players confirmed ( as of last Sunday ) Now Tom may be injured..... we need to hear from the guys who have not confirmed
ReplyDeleteGood luck Sunday!!
ReplyDeleteNo excuses, even if we play a man or two down!
Someone call Jorge and offer to meet him and Carlos along 95 somewhere, at say 7:30.

Jodingo!! i thought Jorge was going to stay in Wallingford over nite?
ReplyDelete..................last Sunday Jorge said he was staying with family over night in Wallingford, so that he would be much closer for the 8:30 KO, so, I would suggest that El Gato make firm arrangement to meet Carlos. Sorry to volunteer you El Gato, but we can always count on you delivering.....
ReplyDeleteVery best of luck on Sunday boys. We will check in a soon as your match is over
.......Welcome back Hulk. Great effort in FL. It must be. Ice to be a multitalented sportsman......football, baseball, softball, deep sea fishing. What else have you got up your massive sleave
Yes guys. I'll be there at the field 8.30 am. Sure, we'll win the game anyway. Good luck in Scotland. Jorge
ReplyDeleteJorge, Good to hear you'll be there. Please encourage Carlos to meet up with El Gato and be there at the game also!
ReplyDeleteEl Gato, The best way to reach Carlos is to call his work number during the day and ask for "Flaco."
I thought Arnie was going to the Scotish land or may be not.
ReplyDeleteJodingo, say hello to suzan and have a blast with the boys. Don't drink and drive or you probably can't drive there
Arnie, Great news to see you'll be there. You and Halil should be able to control the middle.
ReplyDeleteTom, Thanks! We will do our best over there! I will pass your greetings onto Susan for sure! Hope your injuries subside enough for you to play this Sunday. Good luck at Hamden!

...........Hulk, look out for a fishing trip check in the mail. Best of luck on Sunday!
ReplyDeleteLast confirm.Carlos is in, el Gato bring him, from Madison so we are 12 and half ( Tom is the half)
ReplyDeleteThen now we are:
ReplyDeleteThe Hulk
Talet Carlos Roberto El Gato tpink
Halil Arniesto Ilhan Tom A ( if recovered )
Tano Jorge Safet
...........great stuff Tano!
ReplyDeleteEl Gato... don't forget to send the score to Garry Archer before 6pm on the Sunday! Follow the format i have used in my emails to him so far.... home team first in the email! Have fun!
ReplyDeleteTano, Flaco should play midfield since Roberto can play sweeper. Telat at mid also. We need more offense, and we need to pile on goals to increase our goal differential. Though starting Telat at fullback may make sense until the team gets settled, and then shift him forward.
ReplyDeleteGuys, Don't forget to mind your manners....no yellow cards!
ReplyDeleteJorge, I'm dropping off your new jersey with El Gato today. It has been numbered as requested.
ReplyDelete..............I am predicting hatricks for Tano, Jorge and Carlos on Sunday :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Guys .... The Atlantic Rovers are at Newark ready to head off! Only two pints so far.... will update you on the road trip as often as i can
ReplyDeleteJodingo!! may not travel with us as he has met a very attractive Flight attendant going to Chernobyl

ReplyDeleteFlight called, i have to take these drunks to the plane, oops my legs have just gone, sending for a chair
ReplyDelete...............................we"e stuck on the runway in Newark # 20 for take off. I need a beverage badly..................
ReplyDeleteYou guys on Atlantic Rovers's team have fun and enjoy the tournament...we will enjoy our tournament in Hamden instead. There is a shower in the forecast and hope it doesn't mess things up.
ReplyDeleteGuys, coffee, donuts and danishes for this Sunday and NO beer this Sunday.
I will play and see you on Sunday
I'll bring ice coffee and donuts, if any one bring some cognac or brandy for the coffee I don't mind, may some alcoholics will need it for the after game drinks.
