Chasing Fitness!

The re-start of the season is nearly upon us and so is the chase for fitness! Yes, some of us lost that race a long time ago but we need to get into some sort of shape for the season start up! August 21st will be the start date although the schedule of games has not yet been published. We do need to get some friendly games under our belt before that date though. We have been challenged to a scrimmage match with Madison over 30's on August 7th. This would be a tough warm up game but would get the ball rolling on our match fitness. TomA is also trying to set up a scrimmage against Cheshire the following weekend.

I need to know who is available for the the August 7th game

Rugginho has been holding fitness sessions on Sunday morning at Cox High school. He will be there again this Sunday at 8.30. It would be good to see a lot of you there!

  15. FALL SCHEDULE;

See message below from Scheduling Secretary Mike Schechter's schedule for the extended season. Be sure to follows Mikes directions for changes time lines in his e-mail message.

It is important that managers check with their towns on their scheduled home games. Last minute changes cause real problems with Mike and the referee assignor.

This is a great League and with your cooperation it will continue as such.

    Ken

    From: Michael Schechter
    Folks,

The Schedule is published! You can access it either at the SASL website or http://www.stitchgifts.com/sasl/saslschedule10-11.htm

This is a draft and you have until Sunday to email any changes or requests!!

Reminder, as a rule, you have until Wednesday before Sunday's game to request a change inside your town or you probably will not have a referee crew. 10 days advance notice to schedule a field change outside your town. Call your town on Monday verifying your field has no conflicts. All teams should have written permits for the season and must be able to produce it at anytime.

Thank you all in advance for helping.

Best wishes on a fun Fall season.

    Mike

    ReplyDelete
  28. Johnaldo... I was unable to do much workout today, my lower back hurts badly, I wen to Clinton to play, but I just walked around.
Did you have extra muscle relaxing pills from your last injure? can I borrow few of them.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Tano. Yes the Inter goalie was lucky but he was also good! I thought Celtic were really unlucky to lose this game though

    ReplyDelete
  30. Surprised how thoroughly Man City spanked Inter Milan last night. Community Shield should be interesting.

    Bambi

    ReplyDelete
  31. Bambi....Inter were not that great against Celtic...Celtic had more possession, more shots on goal, more corners than Inter but made two stupid defensive errors in the first half to lose both goals... was not impressed by them at all....Man City look a fairly boring team too

  32. update on 8/14 game with Cheshire:

  33. Toma. We are all set for the game on the 7th against the over 30's team. We can get a squad game together for the 21 st and any of the Cheshire guys can join us.

  35. I will talk to them again for the 14th and will get back when I hear from them

    ReplyDelete
  36. Sorry to missing all the action boys. On family vacation, but will be back for the 14Th match. Kudos to Rugginho for training and TomA et al for arranging scrimmage next week. Big match out of the blocks with Guilford, but with our scoring boots on, we can win it, as that was all that was missing last time against them

Welcome back LaBoca, and btw, I do still luv u :-)

  39. Where's the game? Town Campus? If so, let's make sure everyone is aware of that and has directions. (Especially those that don't read the blog.)

I thought Halil's brother was joining our team. No? He would be a good addition.

  42. I need your attention please:
I have been recycling bottles and cans for our drinks and from my families, and like I said I do this for buying the team ball.I may don't have the whole amount but i'm close, and I want to start fall season with a new ball.
My questions is witch one do you like it between this two:
    Adidas Finale 11
    Nike Seitiro

My personal opinion is that old people like Adidas and is a lit bit heavy than Nike.
But all together helps to decide, if you know something about soccer balls. But both are the top of the line.
    Please vote.
