NEXT GAME: Sunday 23rd Nov, New Fairfield!

This is it! The final game of the 2008 season and what a season it has been. A new team, some new shirts and a whole new commitment to winning! After 18 games we have only one left and it's a tough one, away to New Fairfield. They are sitting third in the league with 34 points after 20 games. We are 5th with 30 points after only 18 games so we can't catch them but if we beat them i would say we are the moral victors seeing as they got to play more game than us. In fact every team got to play more than us! We have played New Fairfield 3 times already this season losing one, winning one and drawing one.
I will again miss the game but i know you guys can do it! Someone please take great notes of all the goals that RoRo and Jorge ( El Guante Blanco) scored!

By the way, the current goalscorers for the Fall season are as follows:

Ro Ro 10 goals
Jorge 8 goals
Roniildo 5 goals
Scott 3 goals
Carlito 2 goals

Then Danny, Tom, Eric and Jacques are all on 1. We won't count my goals.......

  1. If I am able to play, I will meet you at the park and ride lot in
Guilford. I plan to test my ankle tomorrow morning and will let you
know sometime tomorrow whether or not I will attend this last game.

My injury is likely a torn ligament between my ankle and foot, and if
I am to play I will self-medicate to point of no pain. Therefore, I
should not drive to New Fairfield.

Who's bringing the beer so I can further self-medicate for the return
    ride?

  3. Interesting write up of "El Diego's" return coaching Argentina against Scotland (they have a national team?!). Kind of like a Beckham story, but with a world cup winner.

  6. Scotland is a region within the UK. You can think of it as a small brother
to England......or maybe a sister of Wales....

    ReplyDelete
  7. yes its just like you are the small brother to Jacques ......or the sister
    to Tom.....

  8. Ouch!! Fighting words! Figures you grow b_lls when you're 3000 miles

  9. jodinho,
Just as Celtic is the greatest team on earth (it says so on page one of
the blog!), Scotland is the greatest country on earth :-)

  10. ronildo, you've been drinking the same poison as your brother
johnaldo....big gulps! and probably smokin some of danny's stuff as
    well!

  11. If Scotland does not have a national team then you can say the same thing
for every team that is part of the UK - even England!

  12. no, they just go down to the research department and grab some the newest
product they have not released yet!

    ReplyDelete
  13. Well, technically speaking, one could rightly say that. They only have a
    quasi-national team.

  17. My gosh....there is a war of email going back and forth....Tom see what you started....

It was just a friendly game between the two.....it is good to see Maradano back as a coach...not sure about his coaching ability yet but he was an awsome player in mid 80's....he is also very good with his hand and scored that magical goal that the referee didn't see..... and remains his legacy

yes you could say that we don't have a national team....but if you ever visit the UK.......you don't!

  21. ok, since Americans are so poorly schooled (and the UK is so complicated),
here is your brief history lesson for the day...

  23. This makes my Polish cuisine rather gourmet - we add meat and rice and
    vodka.

  24. Think the "England" team would be better if it was truly a "UK" team - with
the best from all of the UK? Or just more of a mess of great players unable
to work together (kind of like the country itself!)

    ReplyDelete
  25. vodka for kids? wow u poles are crazy!
....i don't think a UK team would work

  26. bring em up right!
and what's the problem? it's clear, it's from potatoes, can't smell it on
    your breath...

  27. Everyone knows that Wikpedia is not a reliable or credible source of
information. The site is easliy manipulated by third parties, which I'm
sure would include those members of sub-states looking to be more than they
    are....

  28. The stationary bike, the elliptical machine, the treadmill and the weight machines were all kind to me this morning, so I will meet you at the park and ride lot at exit 58 Sunday morning. I am not close to 100% healthy, but I will play.

  29. Hmm! John ____ being replace by a one leg-gimpy player..... add
"effectively" somewhere in that sentence and I smell a big headline on
    the blog.

Rob, those injuries can be serious, so if you don't feel comfortable
right from the start, bring a chair and a 6-pack - get comfortable on
the sideline and shout at us to get back.
