Finally we are back in league action! Our next game is this Sunday away to East Haven. The game will be played at East Haven High School and the kick off is at 10am.We have played East Haven three times already this season and we have won all three with scores of 3-0, 5-0 and 4-1 but although the scores look good the games have been tough. East Haven may sit second from bottom but they just had an outrageous victory away from home beating runaway league toppers Orange 2-0! Now either Orange were squashed by superior play from East Haven or they just gave up but either way it's a warning to us all....no complacency!!
It's been so long since the last game I don't know who has beer duty!

ReplyDeleteDue to some usual Town of Madison Mix-up the Make-up game on Saturday 10/22 against Wallingford, at Town Campus field, will be played at 9-11am. Please make a note of the correction. The game has to start 9am sharp.
Yes, East Haven HS has an artificial field and this will be a challenging game for us since we are not used to playing on turf with high ball bounces, and much faster pace game...may be that's why Orange lost to East Haven.....not sure of course and guessing..

There was confusion on my part on the actual weekend for the double header! I thought it was for this up-coming weekend since Johnaldo posted this event before the actual East-haven game(dates are irrelevant for me with all the things I have to do before the due date)!
ReplyDeleteYes, I blame Johnaldo for my wife cursing at me for even thinking of playing back to back games on a weekend! :o) Not only that, but I had back to back hockey games on Monday the 17 and Tuesday the 18 - it would have been 4 sporting games in 4 days??! We are 4 behind bell curve with our game in hand v Morelia, so imperative we snatch 3 points on the Saturday match....let's give it our very best effort, including begging your wives to let you play in both games :-)

Johnaldo, You can't even drive? Sounds painful! I'm not sure what the prognosis is, but I hope the pain subsides.

If this is just an inflammatory effect on the sciatic nerve then the meds should be able to knock it down over the enxt week. If its doesn't or it comes back its likey a disc issue....

ReplyDeleteLOTB!! What happened to QOTB? Yes I hurt my back doing bit of rock climbing as i tried to rescue a dog that was trapped half way up a mountain. It was a difficult climb and I too got stuck up there overnight holding on to the rock face with one hand and the dog with the other. As dawn crept over the mountain ridge I eased my self and the desperate dog down the side of the steep rock sheets. Just as it looked like my last bit of energy was drained I finally reached the bottom safely. But all the hanging off the mountainside with one arm put a huge strain on my shoulder and legs so i wasn't able to avoid tripping over the dog and landed on my back with a terrible thud and a dog squashing sound

Rugginho switch your beer duty to Sunday 10/23 we can not drink in Town Campus after our 9am game next Saturday. Kids soccer starts at 11 there. So Tom Pink your partner can help you with beer on the Sunday's game in Guilford.

Possible, but it was a fabulous day so no weather issue and the game was scheduled...maybe they are just waiting to this weekends set of results to add them in to the league update.....would have been nice to know what form East Haven are in
