NEXT GAME; Sunday 17th April, East Haven!

After a great win against Morelia last week the Celts have another home game this Sunday against East Haven. This is a very early kick off ( 8am! ) and we will need to do a weather check Saturday night based on the current forecast. The last time we played East Haven we won 3-0 but i remember the game being tougher than we thought it would be.

( Match report is here; http://madisonceltic.blogspot.com/2010/09/match-report-east-haven-0-madison-3.html)

Since this game East Haven have played well and are now sitting 5th in the league on 13 points having played 10, winning 4, losing 5 and drawing 1. Their away form is good having beaten teams such as the Albanian Eagles, North Branford and Morelia on the road! We will have to be on top form to get three points from this game! It's an early start so we need to be awake and ready !

Let's hope the weather plays ball. The beer boys are Jodingo!! and El Gato!

  4. It will be a rainy weekend. At least that's what the forecast is. This game might be cancelled if it rains on saturday and we have a wet ground conditions. This is another game that I will miss but may show up to support from sideline.

  10. gents,
If they decide to close the fields ahead of time I will know by late Saturday evening. Usually I get an email. But they have been pretty cautious about the fields. Past Tuesday and Wednesday they closed the fields around 1pm even though did not rain that much for a 4pm kids practice. So I will keep my phone charged. If they decide to close the fields in the morning i would not know it till 7am when all alerts gets posted. So just keep your fingers crossed since unfortunately we have a very earl game slot.

  11. .........passes are in for Rugginho, Kris and Bambi. U are officially Madison Celtic players as of today...........congratulations, and see you on Sunday

  12. ..........................el gato, remind me of the process for ref alert? As I understand it, if the town cancels at 7AM, I would need to go to the field and pay the referee, if he shows up. The ref requires a min of 2 hours cancellation, otherwise he is entitled to his payment, if he decides to show up. Who is accountable for ref communication

    ReplyDelete
  13. I do not know if we can communicate with the ref. directly since we do not know who is going to be our ref. If we can not post it on the google web site (which you and john should have registered by now) two hours before the game, then yes we have to pay the ref. if he shows up. If that ends up to be the case I will go to field and pay the ref. and put it on your tab. But, lets hope everything turns up ok for Sunday and we do not get hammered with rain Saturday evening.
For players keep your cell phones handy next to your ears....

  14. The latest weather calls for rain starting around 8pm saturday night and not stopping till around 6am sunday morning. Any way of finding out field status saturday evening instead of sunday morning with town

  18. I will be leaving New Jersey at about 5am Sunday morning so it will be tough for me to do the necessary phone calls or blog updates to react to the weather. El Gato and Roniildo will have to cover!

  20. Well gents looks like we or I have to make the decision to cancel the game late Saturday evening or not. since I would not know from the town before 7am.

    ReplyDelete
  21. John/Ron, have you registered for google SASl? Because if canceling before 2 hours you have to post so ref and other league members will see. And we would not be fined/forfeit/...

    ReplyDelete
  22. Ell Gato. Yes we are registered but to give the Ref time we would need to cancel before 6 am! So we have the choice of canceling tonight or very early tomorrow. Or winging it until 7am and see if the fields are kept open? If we dp the latter then if the fields are closed we have to phone the opposition manager the rest of our team and meet the Ref to give him his money..... after 4 pm today I will not have Internet access

    ReplyDelete
  23. ........El Gato, what happens if the town calls at 7AM to say the field is closed. Do they check and enforcer you do not know. The reason I ask is, we could just wing it and play, IF THERE IS NO DOWNSIDE FROM MADISON TOWN!!Let me know.I am registered, and don't minf setting my alarm for 5:30AM and posting cancellation info on Google....

    ReplyDelete
  24. .........really want to play, who cares about some water and mud on the pitch???? And don't come back with the town does :-) I know how officious they are, and how protective of their pristine exchange field

    ReplyDelete
  25. ..............hey Johnaldo, what's the deal. no cells on at FC's pad :-)

    ReplyDelete
  26. Not good form to be using the computer when you are a dinner!

    ReplyDelete
  27. I think we would be banned from using the field if we knew it was closed and went ahead anyway. I think we have decide before 4 today so we can get something on the blog etc. If we cancelled would guys be able to play next Saturday?

    ReplyDelete
  28. ............I could play, but getting answers from all the squad between now and 4PM will be hard. Why don't we wait and see. If it is really heavy rain over night, I will post our gme cancellation by 5:30AM. That covers us with the ref, SASL and the East Haven team. Does that work?

    ReplyDelete
  29. We would still have to call the east haven manager at 7 I guess.

Just noticed the updated disciplinary site on the sasl web site. Krisnis currently banned for two games. He would not be able to play

Also I don't see CArlos on the list at all. Will need to check this out

    ReplyDelete
  30. ....SASL still has Flaco's pass, so he still couldn't play. I'll send KN an email then,as not sure if he will read you note. Shall i call the EH manager at 7AM?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Roniildo. Not sure why Carlos's name is not on the suspension list. How are we meant to know? Kris was banned for 2 games. Odd that they gave you his pass

    ReplyDelete
  32. ..........don't get it either? do we reach out to them...but could backire?

  33. i would leave it cause we dont have his pass and they said he was banned.... they would just blame us rather than say they made a mistake

    ReplyDelete
  34. .....Guy's I am going out this evening, and we still don't have a consensus about our match tomorrow morning...El gato, you are key here, because you wll have the best sense of whether your town will close the field. If you think yes, then call it soon, and let's be done with this.....won't be checking in after 7PM, so need decision b4 then

    ReplyDelete
  35. Ronildo, it all depend on how much rain we get. Either we just cancel late tonight no matter what or wait till 5am and see how it goes. But if town cancels in the morning we have to get on the horn and alert everyone. I will check the field around 10 pm. If you do not mind be on the call at 11pm or 5am

    ReplyDelete
  36. I checked the hour to hour forecast. Maine rain is from 10pm to 6am. We could wait till 5am I check the field and if it is really bad we cancel the game before 5:30 by posting on the google SASL and emailing the East Haven Manager and calling him by 7.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Gents, check the blog late tonight around 11pm and also early morning around 6:30am

    ReplyDelete
  38. Have you guys seen the weather radar?

    http://www.weather.com/weather/map/interactive/Madison+CT+06443?animation=true

There is NO WAY the town will let us use their precious field after this monsoon hits tonight. I want to play as much as everyone else... but I think it would be prudent to call it off now, alert all those who need to know and get a good night's sleep.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Second the motion... I almost made the same post 10 minutes ago.. they're calling for 1-2 inches of rain... it's just not happening.

  40. .....hear yu boys. El Gato I'm on call 24/7 by text email, so now worries there. I've posted the contact manager for East haven above so we can easily give him 2 hours notice in the morning. If El Gato checks the pitch out at 5AM, gives me time to google SASL, and all is good. Assume we're on until we hear from El Gato at 5AM. fantastic football weather anyway.....invigourating :-)I'll be back later tonight

    ReplyDelete
  41. .............BOR, the radar has been off base on many times :-) Off out now....

    ReplyDelete
