Well after a very tight race and a narrow victory for Carlos in the Striker of the Summer vote it's now time for us to vote best midfielder of the summer! Up for critical appraisal are Tom the Coach, TJ, Roniildo, Jodinho and Fribeka! You can vote using the vote machine!
Some great performances by each of them during the season so i'm sure this will be a close one!
Don't forget to watch Arsenal vs Celtic this afternoon in the Champions League! Kick off 2.45 pm on FSC. Celtic 2-0 down from the first leg and heading out....can they stage a miraculous comeback??
oh well, Celtic could not stage a big comeback last night against Arsenal..... although Aresenal hav e scored 3 lucky or illegal goals out of the 5 they scored in aggregate....sour grapes? probably but Celtic have had no luck in Europe recently....

1. Total non-penalty in Torino. Dying swan act from Amoroso.
2. Total non-penalty in Manchester. Dying swan act by Giggs
3. Total non-penalty in Glasgow- bizarre non-hand ball decision against Shaun
4. Total non-penalty tonight. Sying sawn act by E*******.
And the timing is critical- at the death, just before half-time, just when we are looking comfortable...

A couple comments...
ReplyDelete1) You're right John, Celtic got hosed against Arsenal, home and away. They played much better that the 1-5 aggregate.
2) The new Celtic away kit has got to one of the worst uniforms in the history of all sports... yeesh.
3) I got one MOM as a keeper and one as a defender (@ Newtown).

The "bumblebee" kit is a retro homage to a kit they wore in the early nineties that the fans loved.....i'm not too sure about it but Celtic fans are buying it by the thousands....

Celtic grouped with Hamburg, Hapoel Tel Aviv and Rapid Vienna in the Europa cup.....reasonable group and they should do OK. The Rapid game is a revenge game for Celic beacuse of a big con that Rapid Vienna did to Celtic in the UEFA cup in 1984.....yes, we have long memories!!
ReplyDeleteArsenal boss Arsene Wenger has accused Uefa of conducting a "witch-hunt" after it charged Eduardo with diving in the Champions League clash with Celtic.
ReplyDeleteStriker Eduardo appeared to dive to win a penalty last Wednesday and Uefa could ban him for up to two games when its disciplinary body meets on 1 September.
"I find it a complete disgrace and unacceptable," said Wenger.
"It singles out a player to be a cheat and that is not acceptable. We will not accept the way Uefa has treated this."
If Eduardo is suspended he would miss Standard Liege away on 16 September and the home match with Olympiacos on 29 September.
And Wenger added: "I believe you can debate whether it is a penalty or not. But this charge implies there was intent and a desire to cheat the referee. Having seen again the pictures again, nothing is conclusive.
"It's a witch-hunt that we see and not an objective judgement of a case."

ReplyDeleteWould you be interested in a friendly at Woodbridge this coming Sunday...I know it is labor day weekend, but we start again the following week, and could do with some pre games to give us a jump start. Give us a headcount before Wednesday, to provide enough time to make the arrangements. Looking for ward to the season....Roniildo
