NEXT GAME; Sunday 23rd April vs Newington Portuguese ( H )

Our second game of the season is against fellow promotees Newington Portuguese.

This is a home game at Guilford High School ( Turf Field) with a 10am kick off!

Newington have started their campaign in the 2nd Division with a strong 4 -2 away win against Guilford Bell Curve. As you probably remember they had a great season last year wining the 3rd Division title with no losses and only four dropped points. We played them twice last season with a win and a loss but as you can see in the match reports below, both games were competitive and could have gone either way.

Celtic 0 Newington 0

Newington 1 Celtic 0

So no need to feel inferior to them. Our squad is much stronger than last year and we should expect to grab all 3 points if we play the same way we did in the second half against Southeast Rovers

  1. John, thanks for the memory refresh- that's what's so awesome about the blog-we can look back at all the games and see what happened. Let's focus, and finally defeat this team! Their 1-0 victory at their home field was very unlucky for us-they had one good chance and took it. We have a deep squad for Sunday boys, so let's come out swinging and set the tone for the rest of our season....

    1. Can all be there at 9 am because we need to set some tactics and a decent 15 min warm up, I notice that we take 10 to 15 min to get ready with our gear and check in with the ref. another 10 min to do the line up and 10 min people wilt talk about Barca and Juve. and if you said 9 am everybody will get around 9:15. So please lets do it right this year guys, we have good chance to be promoted this year. Be ready Bohys.

  2. Good point Ruben- would be very helpful to organize us if if we could arrive earlier. Guilford Bell Curve are playing against our opponents from last week at 8AM at the HS, so I am going to go early to get a look at the Bell Curve team!

    1. What? Omg please believe that I was planning the same when I saw the times for the other games. And I visit the blog to post something about Bell curve responding John H. Comments between lines that we have to be careful because they won Bell curve 4-2. But I will say the same but with different meaning and little be of analysis that we have to be more strong than last year and we canget the 3 points, and we are!, beside that we can be more stronger when we have back Dave S. and Eduardo, I meet you early,(bring the soccer balls please, thank you Captain .
