Our next game is at our home venue ( Strong Field) against Norwalk Sports Colombia FC with a 9am kick off. They currently sit in 8th position having lost one and tied two games so far. Those tied games were against Guilford Bell Curve and the Pumas which maybe give us a sense of how strong they are. Having said that, this is the team that finished third in the league last year missing promotion by only four points! This is bound to be another tight game and will require us to play just as well as we did against Fairfield. Another three points would give us a great start to the season and really send out a message to the rest of the league. Le's do it!
This game has been designated our first picnic game.....so start adding your dishes to the comments box below. Oh, and add your name to the roll call too! I'm in China for the week so will miss the game. Roniildo and El Gato have all the details for the game. HAVE FUN......AND WIN!

ReplyDeleteEl Gato, Edmilson's pass did not arrive. Jim Quirk informed me yesterday he CAN'T play tomorrow, but is all set for next match....
the deadline for the 20th was May 10th. I recall now from the AGM that SASL changed this rule for this year, to have a minimum of 10 days before JQ would grant passes. He was clear NO EXCEPTIONS, as I did ask him if there was any way he could provide Edmilson's pass

ReplyDeletehuge thanks to all who brought food and drinks to the picnic today.... :-) Sorry I had to leave early to make Erin's match, but the good news her team made it to the U12 Girl CT State cup final....have a great Memorial Day weekend, and we'll get back on track the following week...really good effort in the 2nd half boys....once the yelling stopped, and we got back to having fun, we were back in it...just not our day, topped off with the PK fiasco at end...we can be very competitive in this division...look forward to Edmilson's debut in 2 weeks

Sorry boys for the first goal. I will not sleep well thinking about it. I'm coming to the realization that I cannot play hockey and soccer at the same time anymore (I had a grueling hockey game Friday night). My legs were / are suffering_i'm not as young as I use to be. I've decided to give up hockey to focus on soccer! As captain Ron said, we can compete in this division (as long as we have fun!), and I want to be able to give 100% physically to the game, not 50% because my body is a wreck coming Sunday mornings!
