Cardiac Control, Bell Curve Call

Looks like the team had a great win over Cardiac Arrest last Thursday. I can't tell you much more as the report I got back was very brief; " Cardi 0 Celtic 5"

The next game is against Bell Curve 2, field 3, 7pm

Have fun and maybe someone can send me a few more words on the game?

  1. Formerly in the SASL Masters League (Over-40s), East Haven SC are moving up to the SASL Over-48 League in 2012 and are looking for several additional players in all positions except goalkeeper. Players must be 48 years old or older when the games are played.

For more information please contact East Haven SC's new team manager, José Branco. Telephone 203-432-3581, Cellphone 203-627-3963 or email at jose.branco@yale.edu.

I have also updated the "Players Wanted" page on the SASL Website (see http://saslsoccer.com/players_wanted.html) with a a new entry for East Haven SC in the SASL Over-48 League Teams section.

Other teams on the "Players Wanted" page may have really old entries -- especially those going back to 2009 -- that mangers may wish to have me delete or update with a newer date. Players seeing teams with entries going that far back are probably going to ignore those entries anyway, assuming spaces on the roster have already been taken. Managers let me know and I'll do another update to that page by next weekend.

    Cheers,
    - Garry Archer (SASL Executive Board)

  2. We played well. It was 1-0 for a bit and they are a physical team (taller players and they like to run a lot). They hit a post and had some good shots early on, but we got a 2nd goal. We had a little confusion keeping our shape in MF and defense at times when we subbed, but players adjusted quickly and we were not penalized for it by allowing a goal.

They had 1 sub and we had 4 or 5. So in the 2nd half their initial pace slowed and were less of an offensive threat. We also had 1 or two fortunate goals.

5-0 was a bit flattering score, but it should not take away from a solid performance from everyone, esp. The Hulk who kept the clean sheet!

  3. Start of The Season: Sunday, April 15th, 2012

League Costs: All teams playing in 2012 season will have to pay $400 SASL League Fees before March 1st, 2012 (check needs to be received by March 1st).

This is the first increase in dues in over 10 years of league operation. Unfortunately, operating costs have gone up and the Board is currently exploring alternatives to minimize costs and find alternative revenue generating opportunities to help defray some of the operating costs of the league. We will keep you posted.

State fees (paid to CSSA) will continue at $500. This fee will be collected by June 1st, 2012.

As a special incentive, there's an "EARLY BIRD SPECIAL" for SASL league Fees: IF YOU PAY ON OR BEFORE FEBRUARY 1st, you will get a $50 discount.

So, if you mail your check before February 1st, you should write a check for $350 made out to SASL, Inc. and mailed to:

    Marco Viola
    1200 East Putnam Avenue
    Riverside, CT 06878

Otherwise, (if paying after February 1st), the discount is no longer valid and you should write a $400 check made out to SASL, Inc.

Failure to meet the final deadline (i.e. received by March 1st, 2012) will result in automatic late sanctions of SASL Rules H.5 and L.17 and your team unable to attend/vote at the AGM and probably unable to play in 2012 Season. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

  4. Until I say that I have an important reason to not play,
    """I'M I N T O A L L G A M E S""" of Madison Celtic, I have been playing for about to years now and I never missed a single game. And I'm the only one who never missed a single game since I signed.

I seen unbelievable goals, wonderful games, amazing passes, incredible saves, ridiculus referees, hostiles teams; all those moments will be lost in time like tears in rain.

  6. JH indoor is not as usual, since that you are not there Madison Celtic is changing and will be more I can see that from now, we lose some players as Telat, I believe more will go too as Goggs, and may be Halil and Ilhan.
Get some improvement on recruit new good players or we will pay the consequence, I said many times indoors is an importunity to see new players and contact with others.
I don't discover any new things by saying this, Tom (Guilford B. Eagles)Peter (Guilford Hawks) and others recruit guys from the indoor sec. or from a designated place to practice as a routine.
I said many times, guys we practice Sunday outdoor at Indian River in Clinton(turf field) only one guy showed up (Paulo), last Sunday was 18 degree outside, but I was there to keep on shape and because I love practice soccer. by 10:50 I was back home and I have my daughter from Calif. and my two little ones in my house too, so How many of you were too busy last Sunday that can't at least been absent from your home for a few hours in the morning?
All this will be reflected at the field when we start the outdoors games. So how long we can hold the guys who love to play good in a descent team if we don't make an effort?
I know many of you think that scrimmage games doesn't help to improve, but it helps more that been in the bed or at the cave with an old Jealous alfa female lady.
I love the blog to communicate and have memories, but I love more to have good memories and inspire you to write a report of a victory in time like tattoo in your forehead

  7. Good to see you guys again last night, and good 3-1 win over the Bell Curve. There were very many players last night, which was good and bad!! Good that we won, but not so much playing time for everyone. We will need to coordinate better for next week regarding who is playing, just like we do for regular season games.

Thanks to all who paid their fees. Paulo, you should get your money back from Tom, and give to me next week. I am the finance guy for our team....Thanks!

  8. You right Ronnildo let's do simple no pay no play, I don't care if we don't have enough players, but is not fare to some pay a 100 dollars in advance for others that playing for free, and also share the time with them. I'm not a rich guy and believe all people in this team they are working hard for the money, so fVck those smart a5ses.

Roniildo: can you bring the list of who did pay, so we can get serious on this. I didn't know that many players didn't pay at this time and we play 3 games at ready, and supposed to be in advance. But also the guys who pay please show up so we don't give a chance to play to those who didn't pay yet.

  9. Tano, I will do that. The starting team will be those of us who paid on time as I requested before Xmas. Tano, let me know how many games the new guys have played so far, so they can pay for those games as well. Ii have all the names except one of the new guys who came with Tom. There is Mani, Hooman 1, Hooman 2, and two other guys. See you next Thursday. If I am unable to attend, I will email you a list with all the payment details on it.

    Thanks TANO
