The final game of the season has finally arrived! After this weekend Sunday mornings will now be filled with chores and boring family stuff! So let's finish off the season in style with a win. The game is against Hamden ( yes it's them again) and the game will be played at Town Campus with a 9am kick off. As you saw last week they have greatly improved their team but to be honest we are still much better than them. We dominated large sections of the game last Sunday but could not get the ball in the net.
At the time of writing the promotion spot has not yet been decided.

If Guilford did lose their last game then it could go down to goal difference. But to be honest we should just get out there and enjoy ourselves. We wont get another outdoor game until late April so make the most of this one!

ReplyDeleteI need a partner in the offence, I like Talat since Jorge is in mid and Paulo can play in the right mid.(this is an idea, that's all)based on last few games when I saw in many occasions Paulo ask for a pass when he was outside, Talat have more time play with me also notice that when he came fwd he is in the good position to strike too so that help me in the front, because Hamden don't play position in def, they play the man so always have some mark on me and I can do the dirty job. I will like Carlos too, because his speed, so the little chubby (Hamden def)on their left will be easy for him. think about it, (johnaldo Roniildo)

ReplyDeleteI read the SASL Rules and we screw for one goal, Guilford wins by this rule:
ReplyDelete(b) Least Goals Allowed: The team that allows fewer goals during the regular season, among the tied teams, will take the higher position.
The only things that can happen will be, if the 3rd div get more than 10 teams and 2nd. have less of 10 SASL promote us for been the next best team.But our chances are by points are gone.
Connecticutcelt... Question when we pick a best player means how he plays plus his presences his MOM and his behavior? or just how he plays?
ReplyDeleteTano if Guilford do not have to play their last game then they are promoted based on the lowest goals allowed rule. If they are told they must play or risk being given a 3-0 loss then they woudl play and all they ned to do is avoid losing to get promoted. If they play and lose even by 1 goal we will get promoted based on goal difference. I dont know what the rules are on teams being compelled to finish their games... you would imagine they must have to beacsue it could affect then promotion spot

ReplyDeleteI checked the SASL web site and I found a suspicious results Guilford have same score as last game vs. East Haven, so the end up us for 3 points and 3 goals. But I doubt it if that game was real or fixed. In a small town it's not secrets so we find out soon.
