NEXT GAME; Sunday 18th May, Prospect

A message from our coach;

"Gentlemen,

Hope you all enjoyed Mother's day off! This Sunday we are scheduled to play against Prospect and this is another Away game for us. We need to be there no later than 9:30 am.

Please Google the directions from your location to Hotchkiss Field in Prospect.

If you interested to carpool, we can meet at Madison Circle Pizza parking lot (Rt. 79/80 circle). Please be there by 8:30 am

Please let me know if you are meeting me at the Madison circle or going there directly"

Thanks Tom,

I will be in the UK this weekend so will miss the game. Hopefully someone will take extensive notes so I can blog the match update. Usually Jodinho or Fribeka take the opportunity to express themselves…..

Prospect are a tough team and in the 19 games they played last year they won 9, lost 6 and tied 4. In the four games they played Bridgeport they lost all of them to scores of 4-3, 6-0, 6-2 and 4-3. In the recorded scores against Guilford they fared better winning three and drawing one game. They finished in second place in the league last year but, if we play to the great form of our first two games and have a full squad I think we can win!

Don't forget to send me an e-mail of the result plus any commentary!

  2. So what do you think about the Rangers - Celtic result and the league title?
    What happened?

  3. it was a bad result….Celtic were the best team on the day but could not generate enough goal mouth chances….Rangers hung in there and to their credit they have strung together a number of consecutive victories over the last 8 games....2 games to goafter tonight...Celtic played again tonight and beat Dundee Utd 2-1 and Rangers play tomorrow…..Rangers have to play 2 out of their next 3 games away from home….. I am keeping my fingers crossed!

  4. I will not be able to make this Sunday's game in Prospect due to one of my son's baseball games and picture day for both of my son's teams (which I coach). I also will be out-of-town on Sunday, June 7th. Good Luck this weekend.

  5. Kevinho, thanks for the early warning, and have fun.

    Hi guys,
Can you e-mail a quick yes or no for Sunday. I'd like to have our starting line-up, and sub strategy communicated by Friday morning at the latest….. Unfortunately, John and Kevin are out this week, so pre-planning will be key to our success on Sunday………thanks

    Captain Ron

  6. so far only 8 players are a definite yes. If we can't field a full team against prospect, should we consider forfeit, and do something else with Sunday?....I'm not keen on travelling long distance games unless we have 100% commitment…..been there done that for too many seasons now…..even though we are over forty, the vast majority of other teams show up with a minimum of 13 players rain hail or shine… your thoughts

  13. Since the game is cancelled this Sunday against Prospect. looks like we don't even have enough for the scrimmage game agaist Enrique's buddies. In addition it is going to rain Sunday morning. So count me out for the 9:30 in Westbrook.

  15. Gentlemen,

Just checking the schedule and noticed that there is no game scheduled for this Sunday. Actually, there is no official game for any team this Sunday. This is a Memorial Day weekend. Is everyone available this Sunday? We can set up a game if we have a full team.

    Let me know please ASAP

    Thanks

  16. I'll be around this weekend.

By the way, I saw the slew of emails regarding trying to get a head count
for the Prospect game yesterday. In case anyone was wondering (Ron,
possibly), I didn't respond since I was in Spain, and I had told everyone
two weeks ago that I wouldn't be able to make it. Sorry if this was
    forgotten and caused any confusion.

  17. Why?

Nobody showed up to the friendly game yesterday (except Tom J and I).

I'll be here, but there needs to be a definite headcount prior to this weekend for me to go.

  18. Well, that settles it. If no else is willing to play, I'm not willing
either!! See you all in two weeks......against New Fairfield......bring
    your game faces!

  21. As Jody said......We haven't played for the last 2 weeks. Our next game is in 2 weeks (that would be a month) against New Milford and that's an Away game for us.

I hope we all trying to stay in shape and ready to face New Fairfield in 2 weeks. They are a very good team.
