Brave team runs out of steam......!

Our first session of indoor soccer finished on Thursday night with a mixed set of results. We started well when we stormed to our 5th win in a row with a 9-3 victory against North Branford. Great play from the team overall and even with our regular goalie missing, Fribeka and the Heckelator did a great job between the sticks. But this game took a fair amount of energy out of the team and unfortunately we then had to play a fresh Durham team. They had beaten us earlier in the session and in this game they stormed to a 4-0 lead at half time. After the break our team struggled badly but we hung in there to keep the score respectable. We pulled back their large lead to only 2 goals before they scored at the final whistle for a 8-5 win over us.

So, overall not too bad for this session; played 8, won 5, drew 1, lost 2. We scored an impressive 49 goals and let in only 31.

New session starts again this Thursday......and of course the fitness campaign starts on Monday!

Start scoring those points!

  1. Gentlemen,
Seems like there is a need for a goalie for the next indoor session. I pulled a muscle on the last second of the game and badly injured my left arm. I've been on Naproxin since Friday and can't even raise my arm without major pain. So sorry to say count me out for the next indoor session. I can not risk it for the start of outdoor games. So I am going to rest it out for few weeks.

  5. Gentlemen,

I am told because of the scheduling problem, our first game starts next Thursday night.

Behrooz, hope your injury is nothing serious but you are going to have 2 weeks off. You may want to wait and see how you feel till next week before making your final decision. But is up to you how you feel about it and let you make that call.

So no game this week and we will start the following week.

I am assuming you leave work at 5 and by the time you get down to sportsplex is after 6 anyway....and we all have to be there by 6:30 before the game and there won't be too much of a wasted time on your part.
Anyway, let me know if you interested....and our first game starts next Thursday at 7 pm

  8. I won't be able to make next week since I'll be in Colombia, but the early
start times will work for me. Sign me up for the rest of the games and let
me know how much I owe you. Also, what are you guys wearing for
    uniforms....same as outdoors?

  9. Just wanted to let you know that there are 10 teams in the next session (3 Guilford teams, 2 Madison team including our team, Cardiac Arrest, Ballz Deep(new team), FC Durham, and 2 Branford teams (one is a new team) ). It will be another very good session.
I haven't heard any update on Behrooz's condition yet......Jacque we will probably need to ask Kevin to join us if Behrooz can't play this session.
