We are Joining a New League!!

AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM OUR CFO; Roniildo!

Guys, as you all know we are going to join a new league starting in August. We will have one final Spring season with our current league CARLS then we will move to the SASL for league season 2010-2011 . Their season will start in August. However, crunch time has arrived for us to be eligible to join the new league this year. I know that everyone is excited about the move to the new league, so the purpose of this post is to remind all of us what we need to do now in order for Madison Celtic FC to participate in the new league. Our deadline for payment of March 1st is fast approaching, (see note below in red from Marco Violo), so it is critical to collect from each of you no later than Thursday 25th February. If you can't make the indoor game that evening, please mail the money to me. I will send you my address in a separate e-mail. If I don't hear from you by then, I will assume you don't want to play!! If you are on the roster below, and shouldn't be, please let us know ASAP, because I need the correct numbers to calculate what each of us will pay to play. John, Behrooz, and myself will be attending the mandatory SASL annual general meeting on March 20th at Marriott Hotel in Cromwell, when we are required to pay the remainder of the fees. If we don't attend or pay, we will not be accepted into the league, hence the reason I am asking everyone to pay now. If you know players who don't regularly check the blog or e-mail, please contact them directly with this important information, or alternatively, send me their home/work addresses and I will mail this note directly to them tomorrow. If possible, please bring your $125 to the next game .

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING 2010/2011 LEAGUE REGISTRATION -FEE DEADLINE DATES


Thank you to all the Teams who have already submitted your check for registering for SASL 2010/2011 Season and congratulations on having taken advantage of the $25 Registration Credit.

For those few teams who have not send in their checks yet, please send a check for $325 before March 1st if you want to be considered for the 2010/2011 season. After March 1st, the team will be removed from the scheduling process for the next season.

  1. Which division would we join in over-40? There are more "local" teams in Third.

    I was looking at the SASL website and the divisions.
    First and Second have a Guilford team in each but alot of (lower) Fairfield County teams too.

    The over-48 seems to have a few of our former teams playing....can we join that one?

    could you please give us a break down of cost. I don't think everyone is aware of cost of joining the new league and the cost per/player per season. I think it is important for all players to know this information from the start, what's expected regarding the fees, and no one will be surprised surprised later on. Also, as the manager of the team, I will be attending the meeting in March.

  4. Hi Tom.... Remember you are now Club President and team coach! We don't have a "manager" now but split those roles up between a number of us...so Ron is finance guy (CFO), Rob does the entertainment(CEO), I'm the operations guy (COO). Jody is the recruitment officer...(ha ha!) and Behrooz is the field coordinator.....

    I have no issue with you being at the meeting though......you are our President!

  5. Break down of SASL Fall Fees

    Referee Dues: $1500.00
    One time only Application fee: $100.00
    Initial league fee $325.00
    CCSA and Insurance fees $600.00
    Total=~ $2,525.00
    Divided among 20 players = $126.25 per player.

    * Depending on our final headcount the actual $ cost will be adjusted and communicated accordingly.

    Now that we have dealt with the Fall SASL O40 Men's league fees, we need to turn our attention to the next 2 important decisions for the club.

    Last session of indoor soccer

    The team owes a total of $625 if we are playing. Each player (Ron, John, Tom-A, Rob, Jorge, Carlos, Halil, Drew, Kevin, Behrooz) pays $62.50. If you want to play this session, and are not on this list, please let us know ASAP, and the fees will be adjusted accordingly.


    Our last season (Spring) in the CARSL league.

    Each player should send me $35.00 ASAP. The amount is based on what we each paid for the last CARSL league season. If the fees have changed this (no information forthcoming yet from CARSL), I will let you know.



    In summary, If you are playing the 2010 season the Total fees now due are:

    1.Last Indoor session $62.50
    2. Last CARSL session $35.00
    3.SASL Fall Season $126.50
    4.Total now due $224.00

    respond to your comments. Of course, we have splited the roles among some of the guys (you, Ron, Jody (ha ha), Behrooz, Rob, and we changed how we operate. No issue with that but no one discussed it with me when the SASL meeting was and who is going to it until I received this blog and there was no prior communication.

  9. Spring and Fall Rosters
    We need to get everyone's confirmation to be on board before collecting dues for Spring and Fall dues (for SASL league). This means we need to call people one by one because some people don't read email or blog and we need to do this faily soon, at least a week before March 1st deadline. I can call Carlos, Halil, Ilham and Telat and get their confirmations. Let me know who is contacting other players

  10. I was talked to Tom one night at the indoors field to join you guys to participate in the new league, but it looks like I'm not welcome, because I didn't receive any information and the rooster is done at ready.
    So I keep forward to find a new team in that league until I get one so good luck in the new league. For some one who ask, who am I? I'm Guilford Hawks winger player (Argentinian).
