MATCH REPORT; Madison Celtic 2 Cheshire United 0
Match Report and pics from TANO!
The game was dominated from minute one by Madison Celtic who peppered the Cheshire defense with 20 shots and claimed 9 corners! A very well controlled midfield of Johnny B.and Dave were the pit bulls in the center and Tim was a rock at the back as usual. Even though the Celts dominated the first 45 minutes of the game the half ended goalless After all this pressure a goal was richly deserved and it finally came deep into the second half when Ravi received a pass and scored on the 25th minute. And with 10 min left in the game the Celts emphasized their dominance by scoring a second. At one of the last corner kicks of the game La Boca asked for a short corner which he got and quickly crossed. The ball bounced into the box and was recovered by Tano who, instead of shooting, passed to Jim O. He was all on his own with half the goal gaping in front of him so it was the simplest of tasks to slot the ball into the net. The whistle went to close out a great 2 0 victory for the Celts
Man Of The Match; The mom is either Dave or Me, If I had scored 5 goals that I was really close to doing....but I didn't......so, it's Dave Slade!

Great report Tano, though I think I had more like 80% of the goal to hit. But it was really easy since the defence was in shock that you were worn out from shooting and had to pass it.

DeleteAwesome Jim! You demonstrate one more time that def is not just for stay back and sweep every ball or guy who attack us.Defense can help at front as well, like La Boca did on the corner kick too or John I. when he run on the side and help . If we keep play hard far from our goal, our Mid doesn't have to run back and forward, and we can have ton of change to score like we have in this match. We do well when our team play compact, no more than 30 yards between def line and fwds.
DeleteJohn: Thank you for made the report readable.
Not enough guys to play a friendly on Mothers Day, so see you all tbe following weekš
ReplyDeletetechnical correction on last week's game Tano :-) I was the pit bull in the middle--LOL Dave and John-B played on the L and R of me...

DeleteTell you the true Ronnie, With Dave addition to the midfielder line, I will like to see you as another fwd. on the right, with Ravi center fwd., and me left fwd., plus (:Jack wont sub you in that position :)
ReplyDeleteBut seriously will can try two linesup, one, when we attack: 3-4-3 and, 4-5-1, when we defend, by leaving just the center fwd. at front and you and me pressure if they start playing from back or run back help mid.when is a goal kick, to keep short distance between our back and front line.
