The 7 Deadly Sins of BOR!

Madison Celtic slumped to a 9-7 defeat against a Club Napoli "select" that drew players from multiple teams in the Branford dome. The fact that an international team had to be constructed before the game does not detract from the fact that they probably deserved the victory after so many attacking misses and defensive errors by the Madison team. One thing is for sure, this game will not go down in the key soccer memento book of BOR as he forlornly moved from one position to the next on the field trying to find that elusive form that he normally brings to games. He must have missed 4 or 5 gilt edged chances to score in the first 30 minutes of the game before switching to the defence and seeing 1 or 2 awful shots go by him. Not that he was the only player having troubles....Johnaldo did not have one of his best games either although he was thankful that BOR was taking the heat! 3-1 up at half time was probably a fair reflection for the control Madison had on the game at that time but in the second half Napoli came at them hard. Goals were traded one after the other until at 5-5 Napoli managed to score 4 on the trot and break the coordination of the Madison team. Some of the goals they scored where from crazy angles and from very simple pass and go moves. Madison got back into the groove late in the game and scored two more goals and where looking good for more when they ran out of time.

Last game of this indoor session is next week against our old foes Guilford Hawks at 8pm

DON'T FORGET TO BRING OR SEND IN YOUR FEES!!

  1. It was a crazy game. With all the internal strife going on early on in the Napoli all comers squad, we should have put it out of reach right there and then, but that's the way it goes in football sometimes...just look at the Porto Arsenal game the other night!!!

Welcome Ruben...We're delighted to have you join the team for our SASL debut, and btw, a couple of great goals last night. See you next week…..

  5. BlueMoon! Nice to have you back on the blog, your comments have been very constructive so far? I guess your love of Rangers has blinded you to the reality of a team on the verge of financial oblivion. Here is a nice headline in the Guardian today ( if you are from the UK you will know what that is);

"Rangers remain on a road to nowhere while financial opacity remains"

You should make hay while the Sun shines....it will be setting over Rangers very soon!

  9. You welcome Roniildo.
For me was a long night a was played 3 more games that night,(I was sore at the end and hard to fall a sleep).
About me: I grove up in Buenos Aires with a Soccer ball (grease smelt) in my bed, I was played in Argentinos Juniors at 12,13,14 years old with Francis Coach(1st. Maradona Coach) but my Mom take me out the practices because soccer was the only thing in my mind, and became lazy student.
After that I played in the Air Forces for 3 years and in many leagues for money.
What I try to explain is I played all my life.I'm 45 and I looking for a Team to like have fun when playing that's all.
I see many many games by Pro and in the week they are a genius, but at the game is not always easy. When you see Pro games now, player who been payed tons of money and practices every day, they still make the same mistake like we do.
So Soccer teach me this: No matter how good you are, you need a team for play and fell part of it with goods and bads.
And like in all games is always a chance to lose, so you have to control your ego for deal with that, and blame it to the game rules.
I need to let you know in advance how I think before some one yelling at me (like a kid when he don't listening his parents).
I'll be Gentle with every body.
If we okay just let me know what you need from me. I'll do my best.
This was a part of the conversation the I have with a Gentleman call it Tom.
Sorry for a long post, but communication really matters to me.

  10. Ruben, great post, and we all welcome you to our club. You made a fantastic point about the importance of communication, which is something our club is really working at this year. This was the main reason Johnaldo set up the celtic blog, so that all of us could communicate well, and allow us all to be on the same page!

    See you Thursday!!!

  11. Ruben, thanks for posting! I like your attitude! I also love playing football and playing every Sunday morning is great fun. But I also want to play in a team that has a bunch of guys that get on with each other and are respectful to each other. Passions can get raised during a game, that's natural, but as long as any shouting is done in a balanced way i can deal with it. What i don't like is players being malicious and nasty to each other. This is over 40 football! We are way way past the days of thinking we are really any good at this now. We should go out play as a team, support a player when they make a mistake and encourage each other during a game! Look forward to playing on the same team as you!

  13. Celtic, Celtic thats the team for me,
    Celtic, Celtic on to victory,

They're the finest team in Scotland, I'm sure you will agree,
We'll never give up till we've won the cup and the Scottish football league.

They come from bonnie Scotland, they come from county Cork,
They come from dear old Donegal and even from New York,

From every street in Glasgow they proudly make their way,
To a place called dear old paradise and this is what they say.
Celtic, Celtic thats the team for me,
    Celtic, Celtic on to victory,

They're the finest team in Scotland, I'm sure you will agree,
We'll never give up till we've won the cup and the Scottish football league.

There's Fallon, Young and Gemmel who proudly wear the green,
There's Clark, McNeill and Kennedy, the best there's ever been,

Jim Johnstone, Murdoch, Chalmers, John Divers and John Hughes,
And sixty thousand Celtic fans who proudly shout the news.

Celtic, Celtic thats the team for me,
    Celtic, Celtic on to victory,

They're the finest team in Scotland, I'm sure you will agree,
We'll never give up till we've won the cup and the Scottish football league.
