Looks like we will have a full squad again for this game and therefore we will have to use our subs effectively over the 90 mins. W are going to try a classic Center Forward approach in this game to try and bring some shape to our attack. Enrique, Carlos and Jorge play a style of forward play that means you cannot predict where they are going to be on the field at any time. By having a CF it should provide a relatively fixed point on the field for the midfield and other attackers to play off of. The CF should in no way be static but always trying to find space near the box and to pressure the last defender at all times. Looks like we have at least 4 volunteers for the role. It will involve 15/20 min bursts of action then off for a break. Let's hope it works because we need some goals scored!
I saw the slew of posts regarding the field. Are we still playing on the Exchange field?
ReplyDeleteWe are still playing on the Exchange field. If there is a change, I will let you know asap. The high school field is not available this Sunday. I am trying to get the HS turf field for Sunday 11/22
ReplyDeleteGuys, we are clear to use the Upper Town Campus field this Sunday between 10-12. I will notify the Southington field and the referee
ReplyDeleteI meant the Southington Team
ReplyDeleteBesides the risk of sliding on goose cr_p, that's a pretty decent field.
ReplyDeleteFor those new players who may not know where the Madison Town Campus is located, it is just north of the I-95 exit (Exit 62) for Hammonnasett State Beach. About one mile or less on the right-hand side of the road.
ReplyDeleteHope that wasn't confusing....get off at Exit 62 and go north one mile.
ReplyDeleteAlso, Gino is our referee this Sunday
ReplyDeleteThanks. I did not know where the field was.
ReplyDeleteGuys,
ReplyDeleteWe need to notify all players about the field change and please call the players again to to make sure they will go to the right field Sunday morning. I will only contact Enrique, Ilan and Telat
Tom we can not use the Turf field. I already talked to them. See the following discussions I had with HS Athletic Dept.
ReplyDeleteGood morning gentlemen:
ReplyDeleteI have been advised that one of the men’s soccer teams has been using the Turf Field on Sunday mornings. Please note that you do NOT have a contract to use the turf. Our soccer teams, field hockey and football teams are still in season and will be using the turf field until 11/21/09. Thank you for your cooperation.

Jacqui,
ReplyDeleteWe have never used the turf field at anytime this season or any season for that matter. We had permission to use Jensen fields at some Sunday's. However the Madison Men's over 30 team have been using the turf field at most occassions as their home field.

Thanks. I wasn’t sure who the perpetrator was so sent the email to both groups.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you informed me also because we were always told they are allowed to use the field.
ReplyDeleteNow that we are on the subject how can we pursue to get permission/authorization to use the field on Sunday's in the spring/summer season.
Thank you and appreciate for letting me know.

During the spring, when we have track and field and lacrosse we do not schedule any soccer teams on any of our fields. Once school is out (June 18, 2010) it may be possible to schedule some time on the turf depending on use by summer camps.

Thank you and appreciate for the information.

I checked the field at 7:30 tonight and the nets are up.
