Our next game is yet another away game and yes, it's back in Woodbridge....how's that for deja vu? Let's hope we also remain unbeaten after this game and maybe tuck away 3 points this time out! We have a more normal squad size appearing for this game.... I'm out for this weekend and so is Jodingo!! ( hope you recover soon! ), along with our usual collection of semi- permanent injured and enigmas. I'll let Arniesto post another intelligence report on this team, but from what i can gather they are not as good as the team we played last week.....so let's get out there and win! Because of my absence the usual film and media entourage will be missing....so this game will not be shown on TV! You must be there to experience it..... unless Tano wants to have a go and do some of that? I also need a report on the game and and a man of the match award..... Arniesto, Roniildo or El Gato please work out who does what and send it to me by email....I will probably not get it posted until Tuesday of next week though!
Also, please finish off the team numbering that Tom A has been trying to do....!!
Have fun guys!

Looks like I'm #23, right?
ReplyDeleteNext question: Where to get a jersey? Soccer.com? Or do you all have another source?
Beware of Woodbrige's skinny forward. Also, their Jamaican midfielder. I hear this team has a lot of new players, so I don't have much intel, except for those two. The skinny striker, a good friend of mine, already has something like 5 goals this season....
Tano
ReplyDeleteif u can do any photos or film that would be great.... if you want to have a photo as part of the report u would need to send it to me before Tuesday next week
Arniesto
ReplyDeletecelticfc.com sends them to you staright from the club... will put a number on too
OK if I'm #46? I love McGeady... Didn't look like it was taken. I'll check out the Celtic site, too, thanks. Soccer.com has them for $40 right now...
ReplyDelete46 would work.... McGeady has it because he wanted the number 10 but couldnt get it.... so he went for 4 and 6! $40 is a very good price

Tano-I am supposed to be at a basketball tournament at University of New Haven Sunday AM (~5 miles from the field). I won't know times until late Saturday night, but if the the game times work, I may be able to make a quick trip to the field and help take some photos. But definitely plan on bringing your camera just in case I can't make it!
ReplyDeleteor I may just conveniently come as the game is over and take tailgate photos instead....
P.S.
ReplyDeleteI found the blog posting a bit odd last couple of days? Not sure if it is relevant, but if after hitting the post button, it does not at first succeed, I hit the home link, and then go back to the current post, and that seems to work! hopefully you are totally confused now
LAST CHANCE!
PLease bring your copy of license and a passport size photo this Sunday, as well as your dues for CARSL and SASL. We have 9 days to get the materials to SASL for player registration and verification.
Tom-A, can you make sure Brucey, Carlito and Jorge provide their materials asap. If they don't show up on Sunday, they will need to mail them to me ASAP.
Roniildo:
ReplyDeleteThank you for fast answer about the vitamin b12 provider, thats is real Celtic spirit on you.
And yes I have a good memory if you consider how much damage I did to it on the 80s Marley's times.
I suggest this time find some hiding spot, last Sunday we have to many eyes on us. In one point I don't know if they want to join us or put us in jail,so keep that on mind please.
Annie:
Thank you for your post and respond but is no pressure on you, look like you have a busy morning; but just I want to let you know the Roniildo is very good on beer taste and will be no many opportunities to talk behind of our absence players. John and Jodi don't worry guys we are going to be light and nice on you.
If we do't take some pics: Those games and beers will be lost like tear and pee in the rain.(Celtic runner)
Tano, "lost like tear and pee in the rain"...fantastic! got to win quote of the week; don't you think Annie? reminds me of the midfield late in the 2nd half last week :-)
ReplyDeleteKevinho and Bruce are both goal keepers and obviously they can't play in the goal simultaneously and that's why they both can wear #1
ReplyDeleteTom...you are funny
ReplyDeleteobviously the squad number is set up to identify a player not a position..... there is no team in the World that has two number 1's... one of them needs another number
Roniildo-totally agree!
ReplyDeleteTano wins quote of the week twice!! I am going to have to try and use that one sometime....
I am also a goalie and have #18. Kevin can be #99 or #69........
ReplyDeleteTano pick you up at 9 on Sunday. Be ready
ReplyDeletePLEASE MAIL IN YOUR PHOTO AND COPY OF YOUR LICENSE TO RON ASAP OR LATEST BRING IT TO SUNDAY'S GAME.....(EXTREMELY IMPORTENT)
ReplyDeleteElgato,
ReplyDeleteyour situation is different. You play on the field and plus you can't wear your #18 jersey when play goalie anyway and you have to wear a different color jesery in the goal. Usually Goal keepers wear #1 jersey....but I really don't care. Kevinho can choose any number he likes
John,
ReplyDeleteI trust you are going to give Ron the large Jersey for Safet
tom... yes.... roniildo can pick the shirt up at my office.....he knows that its there
ReplyDeletei will go to the Celtic Stadium shop when i'm over there and see what bargains are available
ReplyDeleteTano
ReplyDeleteyour turn of phrase is unique! Anytime i pee or cry in the future i will think of you......
Tano....just had a pee
ReplyDeleteMy Goalie Jersey has a #18 on it.....
ReplyDeleteJohn:
ReplyDeletelike I said take a pic then.
But keep them for future reference to post on match.com, you may be lucky.:o)
John: If they sale socks around 10 bucks can you bring some size 8 thanks.
El Gato:
Thank you I'll be outside 9 am. waiting 4u.
Ronildo, let me know if the pic I sent is OK. I can get another to you, if not.
ReplyDeleteIMPORTANT QUESTIONS:
ReplyDeleteTO
Mr Tom A., John and Behrouz.
I know you are the three Gents. who start this Team, that's why I like to make some points clear, no just for me just for all of us.
I'm very happy like many others to join Madison Celtics.
And I like this tool (blog) to communicate each others and express our ideas and on the side have some funny comments too.
I'll be there this Sunday even if I'm don't play at all, this is because before to said yes, to sign the roster, I think twice, the is a compromise to me in every Sunday morning to be with the Team, except for some emergencies, I fell like another 10 guys, like me, need me there to make our team keep running.
I said all this now to make an introduction of my questions and after the answers and the agreement of the three of you, I like to each one, include me, evaluate your situation and think about stay or just leave, because we are over 40, so all of us, know at ready what we wants.
The question 1 is:
Witch is first in this Team? Win or make all players play?
You may consider to answer this:
Well Ruben, is the equilibrium of both things. And that is understand answer to me, but it may be unclear answer to some of us when the men ego start to invade our minds and we think that we are better than others.
After this my second question is witch thing the Team consider first a better player or an older one (been in the team obvious)?
After this question I like to leave a side any complains about how much each guy play, because like I said above, if you stay is because you agree how this Team works.
No jokes about please to take serious this matters.(I know may be hard for some one, but please take just this serious from me now, Thanks)
With all my respect Ruben T.
Ruben, I know you seek responses from the three founding members of the club, so I will wait to hear from them, and afford them the respect they deserve for keeping the club going all these years.
ReplyDeleteJust want to say, it is a pleasure to have you in the club, and you more than brighten my week through the blog and at the games!!!
I stay with the club because(1) I love to play the game first and foremost (2) I am lucky to play on a team with a great bunch of teammates.
I leave with a question...How many of you would stay with us, if we lost every game every week. Don't be hasty with your responses, but think it through. Ruben makes the excellent point. What drives you to play for the club? Is it playing time, winning, the camaraderie etc?
THANKS TO ALL WHO HAVE PROVIDED THEIR PHOTOS AND DRIVERS LICENSE COPIES.
SEE YOU SUNDAY BRIGHT AND EARLY :-)))
FYI,
ReplyDeleteA Reminder To the New Teams entering the SASL for the 2010-11 Season
Your Regisration Fee for the 2010-11 Season is due on June 1.
$500 Registration Fees for the State (CSSA). There will be no other registration fees collected for
2010-11, except $10 for player transfer fee within League teams and or a lost player pass.
The SASL does not keep any of the $500, it is all sent to the State before we start playing.
Registration Fees of $500 is due on June 1. Payable to SASL , Inc and mailed to Marco Viola.
Your $600 League fees should have been paid (We paid them, but still need to collect from some players...you know who you are:-)
Ken Brown, President
For the Ex Bd.
To All Managers
ReplyDeleteAt the AGM, Teams were notified that the 2010-11 Registration Fee of $500 was to be received no later that June 1. Check to be made out to SASL, Inc. and mailed to Marco Viola.
If received after June 1, late fees will be added for each 15 days fee is late, see SASL Rule H.5.
The Ex Bd. at the AGM gave teams the extra time to pay this fee, so you have had plenty of time to plan for this payment. Pay on time and avoid late fees.
The League is aware that many teams have not paid their Mini-season $150 league fees. With the change of treasurers, we will be checking the books for the delinquent teams. This fee will be collected before the next season.

For the Ex Bd.
John,
ReplyDeleteJust pick like 2 or 3 large jerseys when you go to Celtic shop. Safet won't be playing due to 10 days waiting rule.
Ruben T, I will respond to you questions when I have a chance.
Showers for Sunday in forecast
Hey CTCelt,
ReplyDeleteCan you check if there are any Large or XL Celtic Shorts on sale over there? I checked the 2 online stores I know of and the only thing I found are some 2XLs... too big for me...I have a 38 waist if that helps. Well, really a 37" but I need an extra inch for the fluffy white tail. I'd also happily buy 2 pairs of socks (mens 12-12) if they were available.
Thanks!
Bambi
Bambi just look this you may like it>>>

Ruben,
ReplyDeleteTo answer your question. I personally do not believe in equal play time. We are in this team for a reason, to have fun and at the same time be competitive. I am sure players do not want to show up every Sunday to lose because somebodies feeling is going to get hurt if they do not get equal play time. Even a very good player could have a bad day. I truly believe if you are not performing, running and putting 110% during the game you should give it a rest and sit out. Of course, better players should get more playing time. We are also here to win. It should be clear that when we move to SASL, teams are much more competitive and organized and non have rotating equal time policy. I know that for a fact. We are moving to SASL for the discipline, competitiveness and organization. I am not saying show up Sunday and do not play at all, but if it ended up that we are behind in the game and need to perform better some players should not complain if they are not getting in the game because its their turn. Each player should know his limits, skill and ability. If we are playing against a very strong team and you cannot keep up with the opponent then you should sit out because equal play time would not work for you. It's frustrating watching guys walk in the field and not perform just because they want their share of play time. Go in put 110% and run hard and believe me after 15 minutes you want to sub. That of course, would be different for a very fit person like Ronnie, Danny or Carlos who can run and play hard the whole game. people like them should play more than others because they control the game. They also give a boost to people who do not run and wonder around the field.
This is just my opinion in this matter.
El Gato:
ReplyDeleteSounds fare to me, now on, winning matters guys,we all been advise, no more complains.
I believe your opinion is not to far from Tom and John perspective.
So our RPG (role playing game) is Run,Pass and Goal, to WIN and have a good time for share some beers after all.
Arghhhh--that's the sound I made as I somehow managed to tear a groin muscle on a run today... Stupidly didn't warm-up/stretch enough...We'll see how it is in the morning, but I'll have to put myself on the questionable list for Sunday. Frustrating! I'll be there either way for the first half.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a communist about playing time, and I'm always happy to step off the field so the stronger, better fit players can keep us in the game, especially in close games. For me it's about working hard when I'm in, and feeling as if I'm contributing-- and having fun. Played a lot on my other team, but stopped having fun. I'm having lots of fun, so far....
***I N T E R C H A M P I O N***
ReplyDeleteSorry Jorge and Dejan.
Milito was on fire, did you see the second goal.
After 45 years the deserve to be Champs.
See you to morrow for celebrate with Stella .:o)
Absolutely, Watch out for Argentina in world cup. Diego/Diego
ReplyDeleteIlhon is bringing beer this week, as he requested last week.
ReplyDeleteHey guys-sorry I couldn't stay for the whole game. Thanks to Bambi for letting me use his lens-camera lens that is! Hopefully I got some good shots and you all added to the lead you had and recorded a W.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to the match report on this one!
The lens must have been under 28" long since you tossed it back lol
ReplyDeleteFinal score was 3-0!
Great win on Sunday Guys, and thanks Annie for taking some photos. After the game, LaBoca said" I hope annie got my goal on video". Unfortunately I was distracting Annie at the time, so unfortunately LaBoca's birthday goal will just have to echo in eternity in his and the rest of our minds....sorry LaBoca!
ReplyDeleteMatch report will be coming soon...not as organized as Johnaldo...btw, if you're reading in Europe, how did your matches go?
Hi Guys! When am i getting the match report! not as easy as it looks huh??
ReplyDeleteMy team had a great game against British United in Brussels but lost a closely fought game 5-3~! We won at the drinking though....
Thanks for the photos Annie!....she has done her job but will the combined press team of Arniesto/Roniildo/el Gato pull out the Pulitzer prize with an awe provoking match report in time for the deadline??
Well, will you?
And well done for going past the 10,000th visitor mark for the site since it started! The other stat is that those 10,000 visitors have searched over 35,000 pages on the blog!!
ReplyDeleteIn other news from Belgium..... Madison Celtic have been invited to play in the International soccer sevens tournament in Hopeman, Scotland in the last week of September!
ReplyDeleteJohnaldo, I'm in for Hopeman!
ReplyDeleteJodingo!! great.... we need a minimum of 7 but ideally 9...if we end up with less than that then one of the Glasgow teams would take us on board
ReplyDeleteDo you think Susan will be there???
ReplyDeleteJohnaldinooooo we miss you last Sunday.
ReplyDeleteAnd I miss your early Report now.
No one ask me like you always do before the game:
Ruben? Do you going to make a goal?
And after that cursed question I never made it.
Just Ronildo said las minute before my goal: YOU GOT THIS RUBY, and finally he brake your Celtic Curse, or was my ex #32 because I played with #11 on my shirt now, or was Jodi or Tom, I don't know who was the Jinx, the thing is, Jorge La Boca and I, made one goal for each one of you guys.
My was for You Jodi,I remember your reflection(We need a goals from You Ruben!)
And the weird thing is the we have 7 goals and all made it by a different player, what a communist Team! Marx will be proud of us to doing this in the US Constitution State.
See you soon Guys.
Tano! Glad you got your first goal for the Celts! The first of many!
ReplyDeleteand Tano....we have 9 goals from 9 different players!!
ReplyDeleteYes, you right indeed, there is 9 goals.
ReplyDeleteThis make more stronger the joke concept of been communist.
Johnaldo...report coming by end of day...got bogged down with work today :-)
ReplyDeleteTano...yes we are spreading the goals around! Maybe i will get one too!
ReplyDeleteroniildo...no problem.... i thought Arniesto was doing it this weekend.... I usually write the report immediately after the game to get it done.... painful doing it later
ReplyDeleteJodingo!! Maybe SuBo could be enticed to come and watch....especially if she knows you are going!
ReplyDelete
