Our next game is an AWAY game against Southington SC. This is a different Southington from the one we beat a couple of weeks ago. The last time we played these guys was a couple of years ago when we beat them 10-1!!! Jorge scored 4 goals in that game......yes, those were the days!
Here is the match report from that game so you can enjoy a trip down memory lane;

ReplyDeleteAre we working on recruiting another keeper? (No disrespect El Gato....I know you would like to come out of goal occasionally.)
ReplyDeleteAlso, only 2 Madison players scrimmaged last night in Guilford with the Hawks. I'm sure many of you weren't there due to practicing on your own....

ReplyDeleteautomatic uploads! and cell phone posting...allows a lot of multi-tasking!
ReplyDeleteTeam photo shoot this Sunday...bring your smiling faces!!
ReplyDeleteAdditional Goalkeeper is me... my ankle should be good enough this weekend, count me in.
ReplyDeleteJodi:
ReplyDeleteOur first game was with the best Team of Carsl League Div B because they was in the A div last season, the Other good team may be Southbury Boomers, but nothing compare with last year teams that you played like: Prospects, Bridgeport A, or Guilford Hawks.
Good Idea to you Kev been a goalkeeper so who wants to shoot a Bambi? :0)
will be so cruel to do that.
Tano
ReplyDeleteyes, this Southington team was one of the worst teams in the B div two years ago!
Tano, Bring plenty of beer because some of the team might be so relaxed on the sidelines that they might want to start drinking early!
ReplyDeleteIf we are just twelve will be plenty for us.
ReplyDelete48 is fine?
just talking to Halil and he was wondering who is practicing tonight...he will be there plus with Ilhan or Telat....I won't be there and I have a practice with U13 girls tonight and can't be in 2 places at the same time. Hope other few of us are attending tonight's practice and he is not alone
ReplyDeleteI was there good practice so far 14 guys
ReplyDeletejust the two of us
we can make it if we try.
just the two of us
building a castle in the sky

(sadece ikimiz top ten song in Republic of Turkey):)
TANO....u been drinking again??
ReplyDeleteTano, 48 should be enough to make our drive home very interesting....
ReplyDeleteWho will be the goleador this week???
ReplyDeleteTom has not confirmed Bruce for this week..... so i would imagine it is El Gato with Bambi as back up..... we have no evidence that Bambi can be a goalkeeper so that should be interesting.... but this would be the team to test him out against!
ReplyDeleteGoleador is Spanish for the goal scorer (I was informed of this by mi amiga en Bogota!!)
ReplyDeleteah! then it's not El Gato.....or Bambi!
ReplyDeleteHello All,
ReplyDeleteWe had two upsets in the CSSA Over-30 State Cup Semi-Finals since both favourites to reach the Final were eliminated!
Danbury United 0, Club Napoli 0 -- after extra time. Club Napoli won 3-2 on penalty kicks. (at Tunxis Mead, Farmington)
Bristol Italians 2, Norwalk Mariners 3 (at University of Bridgeport, Bridgeport)
These scores have not been confirmed by the CSSA yet.
Danbury United versus Club Napoli was 0-0 after 90 minutes regulation time and the 30 minutes of extra time. The game still remained tied after the first five penalties and then it went to "sudden death" penalty kicks. Club Napoli scored their sixth penalty kick, but Danbury United's sixth penalty kick was saved.
In the other semi-final Norwalk Mariners were leading 2-0 at half-time, but Bristol Italians stormed right back, tying the game 2-2 within the first 15 minutes of the second half. Bristol continued to push and thought they had scored again, but it was disallowed following a close offside call. The game continued to have drama. With only 10 minutes remaining the Mariners were awarded a penalty kick, but the Bristol goalkeeper saved it. With the game in time added on by the referee, and looking like it was going to need 30 minutes of extra time as well, Norwalk Mariners' Rui Fernandes scored the winning goal in the 93rd minute. It will be the Mariners' first trip to a CSSA final in their 35 year history.
Many thanks to all of the managers who reported! Both games were clearly exciting and both games probably merited as worthy finals themselves.
The CSSA Over-30 State Cup Final will be Club Napoli versus Norwalk Mariners at a neutral venue to be determined on a date and kick-off time also to be determined.
The CSSA Over-40 State Cup quarter-finals are all scheduled for May 9th (Mothers Day), all having 9:00 AM kick-off times.
Danbury United's USASA Over-30 National Cup game, originally scheduled for May 9th (Mothers Day) has now been moved to Saturday, May 8th, still at the Portuguese Cultural Center in Danbury, kick-off at 5:00 PM. Their opponents are Westchester Kick (E-NY).
Anybody could be a Goleador against this Southington team.....
