NEXT GAME; Sunday 11th Sept vs Stamford City (H)
The Celts continue their league campaign with a home game against tough opponents Stamford City. The last meeting between the teams resulted in a goal less draw but the match report indicates that there were plenty of chances in a defense dominated game.
Stamford City 0 Madison Celtic 0
Stamford City currently sit in third place six points behind the Celts but will be keen to close that gap. Of course the opportunity for Madison Celtic is to open a huge nine point gap and consolidate the promotion spot!
The kick off is at 10am at our home field at Long Hill
Let's grab those points in the race to be first!!

Stamford are a pretty stuffy type of team at the back. They have only let in 8 goals all season but are the lowest scoring team in the league too with only 12 goals! Even bottom team Hamden have scored 13! So not surprising they have 5 draws to their stats this season. Expect a tough defense from them and break away opportunities as their main tool for attack.
ReplyDeletethey have had 5 games where the results have been either 1 1 or 0 0. Their biggest win has been 2 0 vs N Branford but their only loss was 3 1 to Newington
ReplyDeletelove the pic of Kris Commons beating the Bolt!
ReplyDeleteit's a great photo that was doing the rounds on the Celtic blogs
DeleteYeah John-expecting a tough match on Sunday. They don't give you too much many chances, and have one really excellent mid-fielder who can create on the counter attack
ReplyDeleteThis Saturday at 7 am is a big problem gents. what do I watch live? ManU VS M.City or Celtic vs. Ranger? what should I do? Or I just toss a coin?
