MATCH REPORT; Madison 0 Cheshire 1

This routine loss for Madison Celtic was a bit more depressing than previous defeats because of the way the team just seemed to accept the fact that we would not score. Cheshire were OK but no great shakes and scored on a  breakaway when ex Madison player Ahmad slammed an unstoppable shot past the stranded Hulk. They had few chances during the game and when they did get through the defence Hulk was more than capable of blocking the shot. At the other end of the field Madison struggled to mount any type of coherent attack and had very few shots on goal. New player Kevin did some great runs but found himself getting deeper and deeper into his own half to collect the ball. Both he and Tano became increasingly isolated up front as the game progressed and the midfield failed to connect with any passes. When Madison did get an opportunity on goal it was usually from a distance and well wide of the mark. The Cheshire goalkeeper pulled off a couple of good saves but for most of the game he was comfortably untroubled. The second half did see Madison play some better football with Fribeka playing a good role plugging the gap between the defence and the midfield but any chance of claiming at least a point was scuppered when Johnny B was sent off for a second bookable offence. The first bookable offence was a joke so this was a tough red to get. The game finished with Cheshire pressing for a second and Tim and Edmilson, along with Hulk, stemming the tide. We are rooted at the bottom of the league with Albanian Eagles who happen to be our next opponents. Time for a fight back?

Man of the Match; Fribeka played well, as did Tim and Edmilson but my MOM goes to Hulk for pulling of some nice saves
