CENTRAL MIDDLE SCHOOL:
9 Indian Rock Lane, Greenwich, CT 06830
I-95 to Exit 4, Southbound right, Northbound left onto Indian Field Road. Go about 1 mile, you will cross East Putnam Avenue/Route 1 where Indian Field becomes Old Post Road #6 and turns sharply right. Go about 100 yards, turn left onto Stanwich Road and go about 7/10 mile, turn right onto Indian Rock Lane, school on left. Field behind school.
Teams should note that NO ALCOHOL is allowed on school grounds!
The last time we played them Carlos suffered a bad injury in a game that was fairly even up to that point. We eventually lost 2 -0 but we more than matched the Pumas through most of the game. If we keep our passing errors to a minimum and get a few more chances on goal then we may be able to get ourselves back on track. The roll call has started already and we need a strong squad for Sunday. Roniildo, El Gato and myself are out but hopefully we will have more than enough to cover.
Remember, SASL rules are extremely tough on any abuse of the ref, and that includes verbal abuse. We can be fined, points ban, player ban or all of the above! Please, under NO circumstance get involved in a debate about a refs decision. He will NEVER change his mind and you will only piss him off for future decisions.

ReplyDeleteGuys do not complain when I start to recruit more guys.
ReplyDeleteBecause many are out for more than 3 games and we are 22 players on the roster and we can have 11 when is out games?
Please if you can play every Sunday, why you want to be register in a league team who all depends on you to show up?."That's is disrespect" if you want to play once in a wile, just say so, I will help you to play scrimmage where is not compromise to be there if can't.
Is acceptable if you have an accident or some emergency.
Many times I canceled works or family events because the Team games or driving far without licence,(no more TG)and is not fare to have so many guys in the roster and they don't F.. care about the team.
So please show up guys or I will ask John to release those for a new players for the next season. I ask this with all respect from a guy who never miss a game, since I sign it.
My personal quote:
If you are dead the world goes on, pretend to be dead on Sundays mornings and come play in the paradise with a Celtic Shirt, have some drinks and be wait for the CPR on Sunday Afternoon, when go back home.
cheers.

Jodingo!! can you call Carlos and see if he can play? he may carpooling with you.
I just talked to Flaco. He is NOT playing with us on Sunday. We might have to forfeit unless 2 of the 4 remaining team members (Halil, Ilhan, La Boca and Paulo) can play. We can play with 10, but not less.
ReplyDeleteso much for the big squad! What about Telat? He is still in the squad
ReplyDeleteif we get Halil, Ilhan, paulo the you have 11 If Talet is available thats 12
ReplyDeleteBig chance to get the full 90 mins!!
Paulo is out He text me 10 min ago
ReplyDeleteHalil is in. 2 more and we have team.
ReplyDeleteJohnaldo... did you send that envelope?
Halil will call Ilhan and Telat and I leave a voice mail to La Boca and see what going on by to night.
ReplyDeletePresuming we have a full squad for Sunday, for those who would like to commute together to the game, we will meet at Exit 58 at 9:15. If some players would like to meet or be picked up along the way down I-95, let us know.
ReplyDeletePlease confirm the roster, by Saturday night. Tano, I like your enthusiasm, and wish we could play as well; however, I would rather have my Sunday with my family instead of travelling one hour back and forth at 11AM (kill your day). Again, before you jump and crucify me for not being dedicated to the team, I would definitively play if we have a full roster (no subs)....
ReplyDeleteFribeka.. Thank you and I will confirm the roster by tomorrow.
Deletegiven that there are not enough players for sunday I decided to cancel my trip to Boston and go to play with you. I'll play at least 60 minutes because no to many subs. I'll be at exit 58 at 9.15 am. Saludos: Jorge

La Boca don't answer I try several times so we are who we are I hope someone else shows to be 11.
ReplyDeletejodingo!! And JB, regarding player pass turn around time, the SASL reigistrar, Jim Quirk is very specific in his rules. I'll use our Sunday match as the example. If JQ received ALL paperwork, photo ID by Tuesday this week (21st), he approves, and mails back the pass on Thursday (23rd). If the Tuesday deadline is missed for any reason, the player pass will be mailed out the following Thursday. The only other caveat, is if JQ is on vacation (I am not privy to his personal schedule), there could be further delay. If John Bwowski's paperwork was received on Tuesday morning, his pass should have been mailed on Thursday, otherwise it will be next week.
ReplyDeleteGood luck on Sunday Boys. I wouldn't forfeit. Other than, family vacation or work travel, I never miss a Sunday. Life is too short to do so, and I love playing the game so much. You never know...the Puma's could be short of players also?
Danny reads the blog so he knows we are trying to get in touch.....
ReplyDeleteDid Halil know what's going on with Ilhan?
After this weekends game we need to do a squad check to see who is still committed to playing. We have a large squad but not everyone seems to be available. I think there are reasonable excuses for not playing like "I'm injured" " I'm on vacation" " I'm working" " I have an unavoidable family commitment" but. excuses like its too far for me to travel or I can't be bothered or I have some yard work to do this morning are not really great ones. I have not heard from a number of players this weekend and a few players have just said they are not playing but no excuse given. It makes planning really difficult. With a squad of 23 players there is no way we should be struggling to make a starting 11. But we are..... So one last try for those guys who haven't even bothered to get in touch. I'm not a mind reader so I don't know what you are thinking. Are you playing or not? And for those guys that just said they are not playing but gave no reason. Why not????
ReplyDeleteGuys! don't expect players who barely play game after game to show up because suddenly we need them?!?!? Some have been so patient, I applaud them (Tom P. Ilahn...). Johnaldo has a tough task to please everybody with his subbing, but we need a system that will please everybody in order to have EVERYBODY on board happy with their contribution. I've heard that we wanted to put the best players/team on the field, therefore some will not sub out and others will have to fight for 5-6 spots, yet we are 4W-6L and are coming to a situation like this one. We will ask players that barely play to bail out the team against a 6W-2L's team????? I watched the second half of the game on the bench last week only to come out for the last 5 minutes; don't get me wrong I didn't mind because I was just happy to run without pain for the first time this season, and happy to let Tom and Johnaldo have more time. Obviously I will relish a full 90 min. regardless of the outcome; but we need to find a way to make everybody happy (too often the subs) in order to have a full squad ready game after game..... I have a feeling that we lost the interest of Safet and Kris after the 3-0 lost against Vasco, where they sat out the full second half (Rugghero, Ilahn and myself as well) even if we were losing 3-0 will 30 minutes or so left???? put yourself in their shoes..... and believe me saying good riddance and bringing new players won't changes the issue. Just my view, like it or not :o) See you tomorrow
ReplyDeleteTotally agree with Johnaldo on squad check. Those of us who care about the future of the club, put in a ton of effort to make it happen (nobody more so than Johnaldo, Tano and a few others). If you're not committed to playing for this team on a regular weekly basis, other than for the reasons outlined by J, then you should be honest with us next week. We are trying to put together a solid team, not just make it convenient for guys to show up when they feel like it. Look at the organization of the top teams we have played this year. With spotty availability do you think any of those teams would give you the time of day. At the bare minimum, we are asking you to be honest in your desire to play for the club. Saying no is just fine, as it opens up space on our roster for new guys (like Alex and John Bowsiski. When you know you can 't play, please email , text or call J or myself.
ReplyDeleteFWIW I am in for Sunday.
ReplyDeleteI'll check back online later tonight (10 pm maybe) to make sure we've not cancelled.
We should confirm we are playing and meeting at Exit 58 at 9:15 Sun am just so there is no confusion. If people are NOT meeting at Exit 58 but still playing, it would be nice to know that, too. Otherwise we might have 5 or 6 players sitting at Exit 58 and not know if we'll have 10 or more total in Greenwich...
I wes to your House Ron and I didn't see any mail from Sasl so Robert have to wait until next week. But don't worry guys we are 11 see you in Greenwich to all. Drive safe. Thanks to all.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tano, and best of luck this morning. See you next week
ReplyDeleteBest of luck guys!
ReplyDeleteGuys I am on vacation!! Some of the comments need further discussion. Yes, let's meet next week for a squad and a reality check. Good luck today. Go Celtics go!
ReplyDeleteTano how was the match?
ReplyDelete3 0 loss
ReplyDeleteWe'll get back on track next week. Not an easy match with no subs. Great effort guys!
ReplyDeleteLabor day weekend next week therefore no games gents.
ReplyDeleteGreat effort my friends
ReplyDeleteYes, we lost 3-0. However, the match wasn't as lopsided as the score would lead one to believe. We were tied at half 0-0. At the 55 minute mark, the Pumas scored one off a miskick by the Madison right fullback, who placed the ball directly onto the foot of a wide open Greenwich striker in front of the goal. Within another two minutes, a ball was failed to be cleared in the 6-yard box and after 3 or 4 miskicks, the Pumas scored from 2 yards out. The last goal came as Madison were pressing toward the end of the game for a goal when TWO Greenwich strikers broke away (and weren't called offside due to a Madison defender who was WALKING (strolling??) more than 10 yards behind the sweeper). Hulk played great; and John B. and Edgimar were solid as well.
ReplyDeleteGood report Jody I agree Bruce saved to have disaster 6-0 in the second half iwas bored of those long kick give away from one goal to another. We need to have a meeting to discus how to play honestly I don't like this way beside the results. And as stricker I have no chance to have a single shot midfielders want to score instead of feed strickers I have chance to cross the ball and no one was on the area. Passes that recieved was from defense and all were high balls . I don't know how many times I said in the game put the ball on the ground and make passes to the nearest available player but was in vain.
ReplyDeleteAnother game that I fill ignored. No fun at all.
Concur with Jodingo! the score is no reflection of the overall team effort! Considering that they had 2 teams (in terms of subs)! Their best central midfielders (probably the best pair we've faced in term of speed and skill combined) were subbing in and out throughout the game. Obviously physical/mental fatigue took over our fighting spirit! but I got to say the way we came out of our box at one point when under pressure with a succession of one touch passes involving Halil, John, Jorge and myslef could have made Barcelona applaud us, and make me wonder how efficient we could be if we would keep that one touch mentality throughout a game!
ReplyDeleteArguably the best game from Hulk! (and Tom P.)
Wish we had the video to send to Barcelona Fribeka....sounds amazing!
ReplyDeleteHey Jodingo!!, luv your bare bones to the point report:- )...sounds like we held our own for most of the match, and made a few mistakes at inorpertune moments. Let's regroup, and look forward to our next match...................everyone have a great labor day weekend!
ReplyDeletehey Hulk, sounds like a great performance and deserved MOM...see you weekend after labor day!
ReplyDeleteGuys any interest to play a scrimmage game against Cheshire....this would help to regroup for the next game after 2 losses.....need to know this right ASAP if we can do this or not
ReplyDeleteThe scrimmage game is for this Sunday @ 10 am
