The next night we rounded off the tour with a trip to watch Celtic play in the Europa Cup against the Italian team Udinese. It was a good game that Celtic deserved to win ( I'm not biased....) but were held to a 1-1 tie. Another few beers to round off the night and another tour for the Atlantic Rovers was successfully concluded! The third tour will likely be that last weekend in September 2012....start saving now!!
Guilford Celtic is a Connecticut based team playing in the Shoreline Adult Soccer League since 2010. The team was formed in 2003 and played in the Connecticut Adult Recreational Soccer League for 7 years. In 2017 we changed our name from Madison to Guilford Celtic! The team is inspired by Glasgow Celtic FC...probably the greatest football team on the planet!

Atlantic Rovers Tour 2011 (Part 4!)
The final stage of the Atlantic Rovers Tour started with our trip around Celtic Park so El Gato could do some shopping. As you can tell from the photo above he was a bit excited to be in such a big Celtic shop as he gets most of his Celtic gear over the Internet! After buying up the shop we said bye bye to El Gato as he headed off to London and the rest of the boys went off to plan for a day trip to Edinburgh. We took the train in the next day for a nice journey around bars, castles and steep hills! The best part of that day ( apart from the beer...) was Jodingo!! getting insulted by a girl serving him coffee at the train station. Made me smile..... Our train got us back to Glasgow just in time to head to a famous city center bar to watch Champions league football. We then said bye bye to BOR as he headed back to Texas and now there were only three of us! The next night Jodingo!! and I played in another 7 a side soccer game and all I remember is that Jodingo!!'s team lost.

ReplyDeleteCongratulation Roniildo, for be the midfielder of the year.
ReplyDeleteThanks Johnaldo for another year of your effort in maintaining this blog alive, and now with the Facebook page.
Thanks to every one who vote for Tano as a fwd. of the year, but without your help guys in the field I'm nothing so this winning award is dedicated to those who always try to be there for the team.
And one more thing, what I consider my own effort and a winner is that I showed to every game since the I signed for Madison Celtic and sometimes leaving personals things a side .
Happy Holidays to all.
Cheers

Grats Ronny on the Middy of the year, a well-deserved award. I am officially out for indoor, not even going to risk it. Unfortunately, it seems I now have something officially in common with Nemanja Vidic (knee injury). Well, besides playing for the world's best football squad. You boys tear it up this year.
ReplyDeleteBambi
thanks Bambi, appreciate the nod! Not my fittest season in a while, but I am already working on that for next season :-) Sorry to hear you are out, but it is the smart thing to do. Indoor much more risky on the knees...Try to show up for Doody's post match wings and beers once in a while..
ReplyDeleteGuys please send me your checks for $100 made out to Madison Celtic FC ASAP (do not make the check to me, and remember to endorse it). If you don't have my address text me (203 243 8144) for it. I will pay when I have received all the money, NOT before, so don't delay or you will jeopardize our spot, and the rest of the team. ALSO, don't haggle over the math. $100 is a little over, but better to have a small buffer, like all normal clubs in the world. Johnaldo and I already had to cover ref fees at the end of the season because we ran out of money. If you don't have access to envelopes and stamps, call me to make alternative arrangements.
ReplyDeleteI guess nobody is reading the blog anymore? I am going back to Scotland in December, so if this is not done, we won't be playing in session 2 after all. I have been in contact with the person who runs the league at Sportsplex. He and I are friends, and he is doing us a favor by reserving a spot, despite the fact we have not stumped up the cash. There are plenty of teams, so they will not accept us late, so please do the right thing and send me you $100 ASAP, so that I can pay-up soon, and not embarrass us as a club. All the other teams pay on time- I know!!!
ReplyDeleteRoniildo. Anyone send you some money?

Ronildo,
ReplyDeleteMy check is in the mail to your address.
Ronnie, send another text/email to all on the list above. You know are guys are getting into their 50's are a little slow....
ReplyDelete.....El Gato, u r the gentleman! They are not slow. It is a combination of BS and recalcitrance. They all got the message, and if they did not, not my prob to contact them. They know about indoor, and all the rest!!! We are all busy in our own ways. So, if I don't get the money from the guys who said they want to play then that is it...no big deal to me.
ReplyDeleteis everyone else on f/book? perhaps that's my prob
ReplyDeletenew article posted! Sorry Roniildo, you may want to repost your comments on the next thread!
